I would definitely not say he's better than Zanetti at least in the current form Zanetti is enjoying. He lacks the poise, passing and experience of Zanetti. Nocerino and Sissoko is about a draw though.

The point is, for 15m, it should be closer than a draw with the guy who was supposed to be the 4th choice midfielder. We're also enabling a potential CL rival to keep their #2 midfielder by buying their 5th choice guy at a bloated cost. Juventus should break the bank a little and steal Mascherano... someone who is by concensus better than Zanetti, Nocerino, Tiago, Almiron and Marchisio.

DMs- Zanetti, Nocerino, Sissoko
CMs- Tiago, Marchisio, Almiron (maybe)
AMs- Giovinco, Camoranesi, Van der Vaart

Sissoko and Van der Vaart are not certainties, but if Sissoko is to happen, who is to be sacrificed?

From what I have seen I would take Mascerano before Momo. But we should look this from the other side. We were happy about Tiago, but he didn't get a chance (not enough IMO). And most of you were against Iaquinta (I wouldn't take him also), but now he is one the best player. IMO he was the best transfer this summer. So if we sign Momo we should give him a chance. It's true for 15 mio, we could get also some other player, but if he will become next Viera (I don't believe that), then we could sell him for a lot more.
