Perhaps it was a bit harsh, but I really don't think he is what we need right now. He may be what we need in the future, but not right now. We need a player like Gilberto Silva for the job. Also, for some strange reason people hate Emerson, but I would love to see him back here. We need experience.
We have enough youngsters who have had their chances this season to play along side some world class heroes. The Serie A is no game. We need to be solid in steady game in and game out next year. Inter, Milan, Roma, Fiorentina, Lazio, and even Palermo will be pretty tough competition for Champions League next year.
Potential is fun, exciting and cute, but this isn't the Premiership, and even so, look at what happened with Arsenal. Sissoko would be fine, but not unless we pick up someone really savvy to play alongside him.

I would be happy to see Sissoko come to Juve but not sure if Benitez will let him go - true they have good cover in central MidF but don't forget Ben likes to put Gerrard out wide sometimes too. So I agree with Andy on this one, any rate it's not like L'pool need the cash..
I watch a good bit of Prem and Sissoko covers every blade of grass, he would be a monster in the slower pace of Serie A (just look at how a 'slow' Vieira turned world class again in Italy..) But Tonykart is right in that you'd need an experienced CM to partner him, def not convinced we have anyone in the current squad that fulfils that criteria..

I know that Sissoko would improve more in the near future. But, there is a point here, we don't have a pure destroyer in our squad bar Zanetti and Giannicheda who will leave in the summer, also he isn't up to Juve's level. Marchisio can make a good defensive midfielder, but Sissoko is already a solid one whom we can depend on. At the end, we'll have more available choices for the midfield and this is vital for a long season. We'll most probably play in Serie A, Coppa Italia and the CL after one season from now. Therefore, I think that capturing Sissoko's signature should be done as soon as we can.

I hope your faith in Sissoko and Zanetti prevails. I am just not one to bet on unproven or slightly above-average commodities. It is fun to think that we can get by next year without bringing in a legitamate option at CM.
I have huge doubts about Sissoko. In Valencia I never ever understood why he was played though the players said he was very impressive in training. I watch some games in Valencia when he was moved to RB, and never have I seen worse tackling nor marking, a dm should at least do ok on his defensive dutie sin that role IMO.
I admit I haven't seen much of him at Liverpool, but of the stuff I've seen I haven't changed my opinion about him. And he always have another DM along side of him, plus Gerrard. I wouldn't trust him to play a lone DM in Juventus.

Sissoko was about 19 when he left Valencia so you should not really rate him on his form at that age.

Sissoko is a tenacious player who never stops and with our stars such as DP and Nedved aging it will be good to have a guy who is everywhere in the team. I really rate him highly and think if he can dominate Barca then he can play for us. People should not hold the fact he is young against him. He is one of the best defensive mids around and he wins a rediculous amount of balls durring games and never stops hounding the opponent. His mentality is perfect for Juventus.
I think he is already a fairly proven player seeing how he plays at a high standard most of the time and if paired with a great creative player in the center mid we could have our very own Gattusso-Pirlo type thing going.

Sissoko was amazing against Barcelona. He totally shut down the likes of Deco and Ronaldinho and nothing really went through him. Defensively and in terms of being a rock in midfield, he could turn out to be even better than Vieira to be honest. However, going forward he probably won't be as efficient as Patrick once was. It would be a miracle if we could lure him away from those dirty Scousers.
