Davids pens Spurs deal Wednesday 3 August, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edgar Davids has ended his Inter nightmare after he completed his free transfer to Tottenham.

The 32-year-old international has finally put pen to paper after passing a medical at White Hart Lane.

"I know everybody is very excited, he is a big player and the one we wanted," Tottenham boss Martin Jol told the club's official website.

"He's one of the most successful players of the last decade. He has played for five of Europe's biggest clubs and he wants to play for Spurs."

The Dutchman joined the Premiership side after an unhappy spell at the San Siro following his move last summer.

Davids has extensive experience at the top level after spells with Ajax, Milan, Juventus, and Barcelona.

yeah and if they capture van der meyde they can start batteling for champions league
They're a bit too weak at the back for me. They've a good keeper, a fine collection of strikers and a decent bunch of midfielders, substantially boosted by Davids (and potentially van der Meyde), but they've got an Irish U21 in right back and three blokes I couldn't name if you gave me a quick look at them on the teamsheet filling out the rest of it. Certainly good enough for a UEFA Cup spot though.
