One thing I did like and they write that in La Gazzetta too was their celebration. At last someone who respects the vuvuzelas.

Only the Italy fans want Italy to win? Wow, you figured that one out all by yourself?

Okay, he didn't take Cassano. Understandable. Why the hell did he then take Gattuso? The man's not going to see a minute on the pitch. An over weight Totti or an older Del Piero would have been better wasting that space on the bench than Gattuso.

Pirlo trains with the squad
Monday 21 June, 2010
Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo was seen training with the ball this morning, raising hopes that he'll be fit to face Slovakia in Johannesburg on Thursday.

The 31-year-old Milan star missed both of Italy's opening two games with a calf injury and has been receiving therapy in South Africa.

Italy boss Marcello Lippi declined to send Pirlo home and replace him with Cagliari's Andrea Cossu, choosing instead to keep faith in the World Cup winner.

Pirlo trained with Italy's second group of players at South Downs College and touched the ball for the first time since his injury.

Lippi then sat his players down and talked for around 20 minutes.

He now has a tough decision on his hands because Pirlo's replacement in the starting line up, Riccardo Montolivo, has been excellent in South Africa.

Why would Italy's forwards be making assists anyway? That is the midfield/fullbacks job in this formation.
Because there are 3 forwards there and they should be involved the most in the attack? It's their job not fullbacks or defensive midfielders job to make assists and combine in the final third, it'd absurd if 7 guys ran their asses of both in the defense and trying to create in the attack and three fuckers would just stand around the D or closer to goal and wait for the ball to bounce on their head or feet.

And Gattusso is way more important figure in the locker room than overweight Totti or out of form Del Piero. If Cesco or Alex would be there the press and fans would beg for them to play, putting even more pressure on Italy.

Yet I still believe Italy will win the whole thing.
