To be honest the only match Italy was impressive in during '06 was the Germany match. The rest of the time they motored through mediocrity like the 1960's version of The Blob. Slow and study, consuming everything they came against.

Judging a player of the tournament based only on goals scored and delivering assists would be farcical.
