I have to disagree, this may be a lame Italy side but even far better ones frequently choked in friendlies. You can't judge how an Italian team will perform when necessary off of matches like this.

Italy look bad in friendlies because they are not a possession team. When intensity is low the team who keeps the ball better will often look better and prevail, one of the reasons Brasil often look great in friendlies. They are allowed to play their football and you can't justify putting tackles in that you normally would.
