I don't think he'll start though. I think sooner or later Lippi will play the Ancelotti strategy 4-1-2-1-2 with De Rossi Marchisio Pirlo and either Rossi or Montolivo.

That's true but Lippi made a misake. He relied on the old players like Grosso and Gattuso for too long so if it turns out that they cant perform any more, the new players won't have the experience.

I think Italy's best bet is if they use Pirlo as an attacking mid. He has the experience and he worked well in that position last year in a few qualifiers. Also De Rossi and him dont play great when they are side by side. So Let Marchisio player with De Rossi and allow Pirlo to move up (like Sneijder at Inter) ..

they really lack creativity if Pirlo is not further up. But they have a good squad.
