You are absolutely correct thats way he was the best player for Italy in the NL game (although was a sub), he was playing out off his position in the Romania game while Donadoni's tachtique were long balls to Toni he still managed to create most of italy's chances in that game and almost scored on various occassions he created for himself.

u can say what u want ... there was no player (expect buffon) who deserved to play for his country... noone was good and dp was shit as was the whole team ... he did nothing like cassano toni di natale camo pirlo etc etc

Finally, someone who thinks Cassano was useless. I don't really see what he did that was so great? I'd also say Chiellini stepped up. Chiellini and Buffon were the best in this tournament.

Chiellini and Buffon were good, del piero was ok but he had limitled chances. It hardly inspired confidence when Donadoni keeps changing players every game, the team had no fluidity for the entire tournament, whether it was the midfield, forwards or formation, Donadoni kept changing things and experementing... you cant do that in a national competition - typical mistake of an inexperienced SHIT manager

Cassano was afraid to shoot for some reason, he just kept holding up play and then passing backwards - making no runs or creating goalscoring opportunities, he wasn't allowed to play his game and he looked a shadow of the Cassano we have seen this year

Well since this is a Juve forum and you can say fuck Del Piero and Camoranesi, why we can't say fuck Italy???

Btw tonight's game was the most boring game of the tournament and none of the teams played good, however Spain were more active and better team and they deserved to go trough, at least because of what they showed in group stage.

Italy really disappointed, even noone expected from them to play some attractive football, but this is bottom of the bottoms. There wasn't any team play or tactic, except cross the ball and try to hit Toni in the head and than hope the ball will bounce into the net. Only positive thing is that Donedoni will be sacked.

No, the right choice was to bring Inzaghi. What in the fucking world was the point in bringing Borriello if you weren't going to use him at all ? And even when it was blatantly obvious Toni was NOT going to get a goal in this tournament Don still persisted in centering Italy's play around the one striker who won't score. He might as well have brought Toni alone to Austria/Swiss and let the other strikers go home.

In a whole tournament talented strikers did not find the net not even once because everything is geared towards a visibly tired Luca Toni, who had a nightmare tournament and should have been benched just to try something different but nope same old same old

OK, i may be pissed right now, but honestly; Italy lost because of donadoni. He is just a crappy manager. And i'm not throwing this out because of the loss tonight. It's the whole package that makes me think this. His whole tactics just are useless, completely useless. How can you put Luca Toni up as a lone striker? This is just complete bullshit imo. I don't like Luca Toni, but you have to give him the fact that he scores out of nothing, but to do so, he needs the ball served either to his head or to his feet 2m in front of the goal. And NOT by a 60m pass of grosso. It's clear that toni cannot score if he's alone in the 4-man defense.
Italy had no concept, no enthusiasm... It all started with the nomination of the players... If Lippi had chosen, no one would have questioned, but with donadoni, it was all 'maybes' and 'why not'... No authority, no final determination in donadoni himself.
What does a Perrotta on the pitch? slow as hell, can't hold a ball, did nothing.
Aquilani? He was more worried that his hair looked good. (quote by the german tv-speaker: "Aquilani leaves the pitch just as he started; with the hair looking godd, and the shirt clean")

Where are the youngsters? where are the fighting spirits... I'm disappointed! Chiellini was the only real good player this year for the azzurris. Camo was not on the height (maybe because played out of position) and even Del Piero was not perfect (although he wasnt given much chances)

Donadoni out immediately... get lippi, or any other coach willing to revolutionize the squad. New blood is needed! Get all those old bones out and get some people who want to win something!
