There is no need to ask if Del Piero can play full 90 minutes.
Of course he can.
No need to ask who's the better one between Alex and Di Natale.
Classes separate them. Alex is much better and more experienced.

It's the damn tactics that make him inferior to Di Natale. Alex himself said he doesn't want to play that role.
It will be a torture for both Del Piero and the fans to watch him play as pure winger so if Donadoni is stubborn enough to play the same tactics no matter the result, then i don't want him to play Del Piero at all.
If he plays out of position people will again start calling him a choker who plays below average for the national team.
Donadoni should either play him in his original position or he shouldn't play him at all.
Well he took both cassano and alex, so its either he willing to be more flexible with his tactics or he thinks he could transform them into playing that horrid system.

I agree with you there, if hes going to play on the dam line like that france game then i prefer him sitting on the bench as it will just have a lot of damage on him and portray him as a bad player.

If donadoni can find a way to get the best out of Ale and cassano then this Italy team will go a very long way in this Euros, otherwise if he continues the kind of crap from the qualifiers then the world champs will get slapped around from all three teams in that group i reckon.

This is probably what we'll see though I think Donadoni would start with Perrotta instead of Gattuso.

DP Toni
Cassano
DeRossi Pirlo Camo
Grosso Chellini Canna Zamby
Buffon
This one is indeed mouth-watering.

Who Will Wear Italy Number 10? Don Doesn’t Care
The debate has started in Italy over who should be handed the fabled number 10 shirt for Euro 2008, but Roberto Donadoni insists that he will leave it up to his players to decide.
The number 10 shirt in Italy, as in many countries, is considered as the most prestigious number on the football field, with the jersey often handed to the most talented and creative attacking player.

Some great players have worn this shirt for the Azzurri in the past at major championships, including the likes of Gianni Rivera, Omar Sivori and Roberto Baggio.

Over the last decade or so there has always been a great debate in the build-up to World Cups and European Championships over who should be handed the shirt. In France '98 Alessandro Del Piero won the nod over Baggio, while Francesco Totti has had the number on his back for the past few tournaments.

With Totti now retired from international football, there is much talk in Italy over who should be given the number 10 for Euro 2008.

Daniele De Rossi has had the mythical symbol on his shoulders during qualifiers. It is believed that the other three candidates for the Euros are Andrea Pirlo, Antonio Cassano and Del Piero.

Italy Coach Roberto Donadoni is not fussed who is granted the honour, and says that he will have no say in the matter.

"For me it is only a number to put on the back of the shirt. I will leave it up to the boys to decide,” The Don stated.

I would love if Del Piero could wear it. In my mind, he deserves it more than anyone else. But I think he'll stick with his #7

I think it'll be Toni.Del Piero and Cassano might be associated more with traditional number 10s,but i dont see either of them being regular starters.Toni on the other hand, will be a regular.
