Cassano is a fucking reliability (excuse my language). He's either going to break into tears, assault players or refs or just have a breakdown. I don't even want him on the bench, most unprofessional player EVER, will only bring negativity to the squad.
And don't even expect Don to field Del Piero from the get go, he'll stick to Di Natale because he is feeling some gay love for him or something, only reason he would pick an obviously inferior striker like that ahead of DP (this is no fan talk, anybody who's seen Di Natale choke in front of the goal when he's wearing an azzurri shirt will agree).
This is very sad to me, because considering their current form, DP and Toni could make this an extraordinary cup experience for Italy (in terms of striking ability, which is the only thing than can be improved upon from the WC06 performance).

Why do you hate Di Natale so much? He is actually not that much of a choker. he has actually done a lot for the Azzurri during qualifying. He is a versatile player who has come through and scored on many occasions for the Azzurri. I definitely think Del Piero should start for the Azzurri after his amazing season which he can but I don't see how he can't play with Di Natale. I just hate how everyone here rates Di Natale so low when he has earned his position on the Azzurri.
I'm not saying that Di Natale is bad, but considering his and DP's current forms, he is clearly inferior. Toni is certain to start, and it's gonna be either Di Natale or DP with him, I don't see Don putting three strikers on the field (not even when 2 are supporting ones).
As far as Pirlo goes: He is a real tournament player, as seen in recent CL seasons. I think he will shape up for the EU Cup and be once again an intricate part of a winning Italy squad. He's what makes this team tick, totally controlling and pacing the play. This poster says it all really.

I dont believe that cassano is going to act insane in a tournament as big as the euros. This tournament is going to define his career, im very happy he got chosen because altough he has issues his soccer skills are seriously phenomenal.

i saw him here in germany 2006 and he was the head of this squad... he may not have the best season but he will do very well with the azzurri
But have you seen the other ones? The Greece, Spain, Germany and Portugal promos have a positive message, but the Italian one shows a hell of a lot of poor sportsmanship.

I agree with the Grosso part. I dont know why people think he sux so much. Panucci might be better defensively (which is even arguable on its own coz the dude can be such a liability) but I think their difference in this aspect is slight compared to the difference in attacking and crossing class where Grosso is far better imo
And we can all talk of how Pirlo, Canna or maybe Zambro have had shaky seasons but I tell u, when these guys are playing NT together, all hell breaks lose!!
Donadoni: I Did Call Inzaghi
Italy national team boss Roberto Donadoni has rejected apparent accusations from Pippo Inzaghi that he did not even bother to phone to tell him that he had been excluded from the squad for Euro 2008.
Donadoni yesterday named a 24-man provisional squad for Austria and Switzerland, and despite a prolific end to the season, during which he scored 10 goals in his final seven games, Pippo Inzaghi’s name was not included.
SuperPippo was hugely disappointed to have been left out, and after the announcement, issued a bitter attack on Donadoni.
“Evidently my injury was enough to mean that I didn’t even deserve a phone call and to cancel out what I thought was a mature, adult relationship,” roared the Milan hitman.
Donadoni has now responded to this, and he insists that he did phone Inzaghi to notify him of the bad news.
"I called him on Monday evening to explain the reasons for the choice, both technical and non-human,” explained Donadoni.
“He was disappointed, but this kind of reaction is understandable."
It is now being speculated that what Inzaghi was referring to when he blasted Donadoni for not calling him, was with regards to his injury problems earlier this season.
The 34-year-old missed many months of the campaign, and it is being claimed that The Don never contacted him during this time to see how he was recovering.
This apparently upset Inzaghi, damaging his relationship with Donadoni, and indeed it may be the real reason why he wasn’t selected.
