Oh please. I like Italian football, I like a lot of Italian players and I've been living in Italy for a couple of months. If that's not enough to be allowed to support Italy when Belgium isn't even playing, that's just bollocks. I support only the Azzurri this tournament, just as I support only Juve.
Do you know what's annoying?

that was quite an effort.. but must you be Italian to support the Azzurri?
Effort? Not at all, I copied the list from the other thread :lol2:

Must one be Italian to support the Azzurri? I am not setting any rules here, you go support whoever you want for all I care but I ain't supporting a country that is not mine. At the same time when I don't like the fact that there are many Turkish, Lebanese, Iranian, etc. Azzurri fan boys, I will do my best to provoke and I have all the right to do that as this forum is not an Azzurri forum.

Why does it bother you so much that there are a lot of non Italians who support Italy? I'm sure if it's Italy vs their home country they'd be supporting their home country obviously. I think people, including myself, support the Italian NT not because it's "Italy" but because we like the football they play, since we've been watching their local league our whole lives, it's only natural since their football is the one we're most familiar with. Football's football in the end, and of course there's national pride involved likewise with other sports, but for those of us who unfortunately will not be experiencing that in euros or world cup, ultimately it's just another football tournament and supporting another team.

But most of them support the Azzurri because they like Juventus. Automatically they will want Juventus players to do good and that way they probably rolled into liking the Azzurri. Furthermore I think one could argue that you can support a team for their style of play as well, especially if your nation isn't even in the Euros.

That doesn't mean you can't piss them all off though.

Turk_Bianconeri has his team in the tournament (obviously from his name) and has voted for Italy. It doesn't bother me as much as it material for me to write about. I found it humerous when I was mocking the fights and the injuries in the Azzurri camp, Vinman wished that Sweden would fail. He thought he was making a take back at me but he forgot totally that the Swedish national team means absolutely nothing to me, something along the lines of the Azzurri.

I would also like Juve players to play well but that does not mean that I wish that their countries do good. I don't mind Del Piero banging in goals, 10 goals in the group stage which will see him be crowned as the scorer's king but at the same time Italy fail to advance from the group stage. It would be a great scenario for me.

I am not ''Azzurri fanboy''.My support depends on how many Juventini they have in their squad. Those Juventini represent their country and my Juventus.

And you can't ignore the bond between Juventus and Italian national team. They were like partners since 1930's.

What I will laugh most at is the Azzurri fan boys taking it back at me when Italy wins. I can't wait for that to happen.

I am only supporting Italy because I have bet on them to win.

I would never consider myself an Azzurri fan and, unlike many, I actually go and watch my own national side play.

I'm keeping that for England fans.

What I fail to see though is why you're attacking the connection between Italy and people who don't even have their NT in the Euros. Can't people simply like Italy?

I guess it's like settling for Fiorentina (I like their style of play) if Juventus is out of the CL.

You're failing to the whole point, Andries, I'm afraid. Vinman wished that the Swedish national team don't qualify from the group stage when I expressed joy at Cassano fighting with other team members. For me this is funny, I giggled then I giggled again when he wanted me to issue warnings for trolling. I also laughed when delpiero06 questioned me being a fan of football and I am soon to giggle if you keep on with this.

But they only did so because you annoyed them and they didn't know who you supported.
