Why am I not surprised? England's favourite son giving his country a truckload of encouragement. Listen you Italo-Jewish-(insert other trendy/beneficial ethnicity here): GO FOR YOUR OWN NATIONAL TEAM.
wouldnt i be correct in saying that israel is also populated with muslims and christians? and besides i have russian herritage through my great grandparents so it makes more sense to support russia than israel anyways.

Sorry for asking this again, but I just don't get it, what did the midfielders in the NT offered more than C. Zanetti to deserve a place more than him????

I have some questions for this un-prof coach called Donadoni.

1- Why not start with Iaquinta?

2- Do you always wait to concede goal in order to make changes?

3- Why isn't C. Zanetti called?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

My ratings for this game

Buffon 6 [not his fault when Italy conceded the goal]

Pannuci 6 [apart from the goal wasn't impressive, Chiellini deserve that place more and I'm not being biased]

Barza 6.5 [Defended well and played the offside tactic pretty good]

Cannavaro 7 [Decent game with no mistakes]

Zambrotta 6 [He looks slower than before, could be due to rain but he did his job pretty well]

Pirlo 6.5 [I can't stand him when he takes freekicks, it's really weird the way he does plus he isn't the player he used to take them couple of years ago, was moving alot and assisted the 2nd goal]

Gattuso 7 [Moved alot on the pitch, looked really fast and had some decent passes and crosses apart from defending well]

Ambrosini 6 [He's got stamina like usually]

Camoranesi 5.5 [Had couple of good moves and run but other than that he did nothing, bad passes, lost several balls]

Di Natale 5.5 [The only good thing he did was giving pass to Toni in the 2nd min, were it not for that I would have given him 5]

Toni 7 [Pretty good striker and very helpful, he's selfish at times and very slow, but he's good]

Donadoni 5 Why It took you time to introduce Iaquinta?? Why not change the system in the middle when they started putting pressure on your team?

This man is pretty lucky to be in Swiss and Austria, were it not for few experienced champs like Toni, Inzaghi, Cannavaro, Gattuso he would be now sitting home instead of standing at the bench.
Why are you giving all these players such high marks?

I'm more confused by Ambosini ahead of De Rossi. They do virtually the same thing only DDR is a waaay better passer of the ball

No seriously, Nocerino isn't as good as Gattuso, aquilani isn't as good as Ambrosini or Perro or even De Rossi.

But none of the midfielders deserve to be more than C. Zanetti in the NT side. and I'm not biased at all. I just don't see Ambrosini ahead of C. Zanetti nor Pirlo, De Rossi.

Are you serious? Why would Don pick him when he has the great Ambrosini???

You know i'm joking right? Zanetti is miles beyond Ambrosini. But pirlo Gattuso and De rossi are better than zanetti who is better than Ambro who is called up because Don is a milanista.

I'm sorry, but I was referring to your claims to Judaism as your religion of choice. I said ethnicity, not nationality. My bad, I should have clarified it.

I've been watching most of Milan games, I don't see how Pirlo deserve a place in the NT more than Zanetti. Only thing he's been better than Zanetti at is his passing abilities. Other than that He's in no where better than him.

Zanetti has proved to be a world class player this year. But Donadoni should be one son of a prick not to pick him up.

tbh i prefer aquilani to ambrosini simply because he has more to offer

I dont see how Italy beating Scotland cannot be a great result. I'm 99% positive that before the game - the majority of people expected Italy to lose as they have a history of struggling against teams that play a hearty/grindy kind of game

Which players you think I overrated them in this game?
Cannavaro - 6 Was really pulled apart at times, thank McFadden for being selfish & missing a sitter.
Zambrotta - 4 He was really bad. All of Scotlands attacks were based on his side.
Pirlo - 4 Where was he?
Gattusso - 4 Didn't even have the energy to argue with the ref today forget about playing football.
Ambrosini - 5,5 Average. The Scots were practically strolling the midfield.
Toni - 5,5 I know he scored a goal but a player with that height should not be jumping like a clown when all long balls were directed at him. Yes he ran a lot but like a headless chicken.

The first half . Italy played well , the scots were pretty much non-existent . Htey dominated and set the tempo they wanted . They came close to ending the game on a few occasions but were unlucky .

The second half , the Italy in the second half wouldn't make it past the group stage in Euro 2008 . They lost concentration after scotland got the draw( A freak goal) . Nearly lost the match and their chance of qualification .
They maintained their composure throughout the game and were able to do what France just couldn't do , they beat Scotland . It was a deserved win but this Italy should do better , the Scots only started to play football near the end of the second half and Italy should have ended the game early .

Donadoni - First the Italian midfield was by far their weakest point today , they got robbed of the ball by the Scots and just couldn't seem to break down the Scottish plays .
Ambrosini had an average game but I think De Rossi should have started . Gatusso wasn't ready physically for this game and someone please tell me what the fuck he was doing on the right wing . He's too slow to be a winger , that's Camo's job , who I expected more from . Pirlo had his average game . (shit display , Not on form at all )

The defense had a good game today and made very little mistakes .
Buffon was unlucky when he conceded the goal , didn't have to make too many saves today .

The attack , Di Natale shouldn't play against physical teams he'll simply get destroyed . Iaquinta and Toni should have started . Toni was good , did what he had to , he should dribble less , it's not his strong point .

Donadoni . I never thought he was good enough to coach the Azzurri nor will I ever think that . He did what he had to today , we shouldn't have won in the last 2 mins in the game . I think he should get replaced before Euro 2008 .
