Ok, from what I gather, Vinman was born in America, lives there his whole life, doesn't speak Italian, has rarely been to the country. None of this matters, his family is Italian, his heritage is Italian, his damn blood is Italian, he feels Italian. He has nothing to prove to anyone. Nothing said here changes that, nothing can take that from him. The guy even says he's proud of America as well as his heritage. I dont see why this discussion has raged on so long. Pointless.
You don't feel Italian. You feel blue or you feel happy. Being Italian isn't an emotion. You either are Italian or you're not. People who are Italian hold an Italiand passport.

The argument about his blood is retarded and only shows you the Ancien Régime still influences some people.

I don't hold an Armenian passport but I am 100% Armenian, not because I feel so or want so, I wasn't born in Armenia and never been there, I don't even know who is Armenia's vice president. But my roots belong to Armenia, my name is an Armenian name and I talk Armenian most of the time, at home or outside. I am not taking sides here, but what you are saying to Vinman doesn't make any sense.

But Vinman isn't retarded, not that much anyway. The problem here is different. Vinman doesn't have an Italian passport. So he will have to come up with something special to prove he IS Italian. Two possible factors that come to mind are living in Italy and speaking Italian. Vinman lives in New York and does not speak Italian.

Anyway, I'd prefer to have this discussion in the NATW-thread, as JCK does not want us to have it here.
Vinman can easily get an Italian passport if he wanted to, AND I do speak basic Italian, so get your facts straight waffle-licker

    Yeah, European.

At least Scotland will move from 4th to 2nd seeds which will give a better chance of qualifying.

Just need to overtake the English now.
Good point, Scotland might not be able to make their mark here yet I think they have gained experience and confidence to help them on the road to WC 2010. Again I really really hope Scotland do qualify. At the expense of France of course.

my hope at the start of this campaign was that Scotland would do well enough to move up the seeding list. That has been achieved, the fact we still have a chance of qualifying is a bonus.

Following the similarities between 1982 & 2006 WC's from Italys point of view (winning most obv, scandal in our domestic football, etc), I found an interesting point. In 82 (as in 06) England went out despite not losing a game in 90 mins.

Both teams then failed to qualify for Euro 84.......

interesting i didn't notice that. England are probably on their way out but as for Italy we have our flight booked already. Although i doubt Italy will win i just can't see Scotland beating us. This game is gonna be a low scoring stalemate. a 1-1, or 0-0 or a 1-0.
