almiron closer to juve goal.com

According to the latest reports coming from Italy, 'tgcom.it' are affirming that Sergio Almiron is on his way to Turin as the Empoli player reached an agreement with the Old Lady who just won the promotion to the Italian topflight after a season in Serie B due to the Calciopoli scandal.

Apparently, the Turin based club is finalizing the last details of the contract before announcing the deal after months of negotiations.

Empoli would receive three young hot prospects from the Bianconeri squad: Paro, Giovincino and Volpato, with Gigi Cagni giving his approval to the operation.

Almiron played 30 games for Empoli this season, scoring 6 goals in the process and helping the Tuscan side reach a Uefa Cup spot in Serie A.

Seems that the deal has change, we are going to give Empoli Volpato and Paro in coownership plus money, seems that Giovinco is out of the deal.

Cant say that I dislike this.

Juve line up Almiron
Monday 11 June, 2007

Sergio Almiron could be just days away from completing his move from Empoli to Italian giants Juventus.

The switch has been on the cards for some time now and a transfer will reportedly be finalised at some stage on Wednesday.

Empoli sporting director Giuseppe Vitale is set to meet with Juve counterpart Alessio Secco in the middle of the week to complete negotiations.

The midfielder is expected to be signed for around £5m in an agreement which will see Matteo Paro move to Tuscany in a co-ownership deal.

The Argentine has reportedly already accepted a four-year contract worth around £1m a year in terms of salary.

Almiron, born in Santa Fe in November 1980, moved to Italy in 2001 when Udinese swooped while he was with Newell’s Old Boys.

He joined Empoli in August 2004 after spending the previous campaign on loan at then Serie B side Verona.

18 mil and 3 promising youngsters to buy Almiron and Iaquinta,
hmm it all happens as i predicted...

unfortunately...

BTW 32 mil, left, to buy:

-20 mil Barzagli or Milito
-20 mil Mavouba or Sissoko
-20 mil Huntelaar or Crouch...

our managers sux and they would also need more money to buy new replacements for Treze and Camo, more money than we will take from their sale...

Almiron has the potential to become world class, but we'll see. His play can only improve with better players around him and he's already one of the best distributors in Serie A. Thank goodness we'll finally have somebody in midfield that does intelligent things with the ball and just doesn't boot it anywhere to safety. Every club needs a player such as this nowadays... Xabi Alonso for Pool, Pirlo for Milan, Carrick for Manure, Juninho for Lyon, etc...

Leave Inter out of this. :D
