    Citation? Reference?

Presidents have done that for time immemorial. Bush Sr. took credit for the fall of the Berlin wall and blamed the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on the Democratic-controlled Congress. This shit is as old as politics itself.

    Quote? Reference?
I'm listening to its translation in Arabic.

Jordan are an "official" ally in the war on terror, we give them mad loot and train their troops (been doing that since the late 1970's) and intelligence agents and in return they kidnap folks, give us reports, and occasionally suicide bomb our CIA facilities.

    Bahrain are just super rich.

WTF, Rebel. This isn't the Obama in Arabic LIVE Thread.

How the hell do you expect people to even respond to any of that? Give me a reason why this thread shouldn't be closed until there's actually something to point to and discuss at the same time. Otherwise it's just going to be pages of you talking to yourself.

I told you I'm listening to it in Arabic because you asked for quotes. I don't know the exact quotes he said in English, but if you want me to give them in Arabic, I would be glad :D

    Excellent analysis :D

We listen to Al Jazeera, they translate his whole speech to Arabic. He can't give you direct quotes at the moment.

Does he really believe what he says?

I mean he says he was always for democracy in the Middle East. Who is he kidding there?
He just reads off a teleprompter half the time. All Obummer has to offer are whorish platitudes and lies, so you might as well listen to a parrot.

Reopened, retitled, with link to the transcript up top so debate can now happen with folks pointing at the same thing at the same time.

For Israelis, it has meant living with the fear that their children could get blown up on a bus or by rockets fired at their homes, as well as the pain of knowing that other children in the region are taught to hate them.
For the Palestinians, efforts to delegitimize Israel will end in failure. Symbolic actions to isolate Israel at the United Nations in September won't create an independent state. Palestinian leaders will not achieve peace or prosperity if Hamas insists on a path of terror and rejection. And Palestinians will never realize their independence by denying the right of Israel to exist.
In particular, the recent announcement of an agreement between Fatah and Hamas raises profound and legitimate questions for Israel – how can one negotiate with a party that has shown itself unwilling to recognize your right to exist. In the weeks and months to come, Palestinian leaders will have to provide a credible answer to that question. Meanwhile, the United States, our Quartet partners, and the Arab states will need to continue every effort to get beyond the current impasse.
he could shut up seriously. It would be much better.

You took some of those out of the context. He criticized both parties and warned them both that they can't continue acting the way they are.
When you quoted the above, you should have quoted this and a couple of more similar statements too:

The dream of a Jewish and democratic state cannot be fulfilled with permanent occupation.

You can compare the sentences and note that he wanted to make Palestinians as terrorists when he mentioned bombing buses, a thing that stopped before years. But he needs the Zionist votes more than appearing unbiased.

He also said that Israel is a jewish country ignoring 20% of the population inside the lands occupied in 1948 in the same speech of Zionist extremists.

He said also that we have to ignore the right of refugees to return and to forget Jerusalem.

Briefly, he made himself for all Palestinians (Including those who were calling for peace) an enemy again in this stupid speech.

"In too many countries, power has been concentrated in the hands of a few." "No honest judiciary..." "no political party to represent his views..." "no free and fair election..."

Gee, that sounds like our country!

    Thanks, Obummer.

That's true, but the parts you quoted shocked me when I read only them. I thought the guy went full force against Palestinians, completely ignoring Israel's acts and it worried me a lot to read that.
Fortunately it wasn't like that and he actually didn't say anything different to what we've been hearing for ages i.e "Israel is doing some bad things and Palestinians kill innocent children". Still bad, but better than what I initially thought after reading your quotes.

    Sorry for that :D
