Which is super funny because our new director we got from the French league.

You'd think he'd bring his scout list and "want" list with him and have some diamonds in the rough he was keeping an eye on.

Instead, we've got like 90% of the same targets as the last director. How is that possible?
i guess Guintoli was using ChatGPT too lol

i don't blame arteta for not winning anything substantial. their squad is far from being the best. they could have won an fa cup or two, but a league title can't be expected from arsenal

i do blame their fans to be delusional fools though. hyping up their team that once punched above its weight but eventually still bottled the title and jerking each other off on some highlights is probably the most satisfaction they'll realistically get in the foreseeable future

Like who? We've basically signed players who were already on loan to us with options, plus David and Joao Mario. The latter wasn't on Giuntoli's list, and David was linked to everyone as he was a free agent. Or do you just mean transfer rumours that are mostly story fillers?

Looks like we're actually after Zhegrova. But maybe we shouldn't be surprised as it's another Ligue 1 player (and a running down contract).

Vlahovic up front, a dynamic mezzala with a goal-scoring instinct and ability to make runs, and a solid central defender—the three requests made yesterday by Allegri to the Milan management. Let's see if they indulge him

So its Vlahovic, Rabiot and Rugani for Milan

funny conclusion by Schira on Milan mercato:
Paradox #ACMilan: despite the 65M spent, the squad appears full of duplicates. Modric, Ricci, and Jashari all give their best in the holding midfield role, where there's space for only one as a starter. That's why Max #Allegri in today's summit asked for a box-to-box midfielder… #calciomercato

Wages aside, but the fact milan paid 35 mill for Nkunku but didn't want to spend more than 10 on Vlahovic tells you precisely why we should stop dealing with these pretend peasants, They always had a bit of money tucked away, fuck it rather let Dusan go for free than sell him to a rival on the cheap.

Their mercato is very random. I don't agree it's great, just seems like they've bought a load of players because they had a crap year.

Does Chelsea's calculator start at 30m? I feel like they ask for 30m minimum for everyone from an 18 year old upwards.

That's because when they start buying their calculator starts at 50mln
Crazy how they still find clubs stupid enough to pay over the odds for their players. Especially if you consider they had 60 players on their payroll and freezed them out

I feel like the big PL clubs are in a flawless loop, and Chelsea have absolutely nailed how to operate this from a business sense. They only buy desirable players and mostly in their younger or peak years. If they flop they are still desirable for other clubs, be that domestically, to a upper-mid tier Euro club, or an Arab club who will pay over value. The prestige of buying from the PL is also important for these clubs.

Their youth academy is also recently prestigious and teams will regularly pay more than elsewhere for one of their players.

Whether they can remain in regular contention for big titles by recycling young players around their core squad remains to be seen. Maybe the owners will be happy with a big trophy every few years and a sprinkling of domestic cups. I think they might need to shift philosophies on the pitch to become a Liverpool or Man City in terms of consistency.

In the coming hours, instrumental tests, but there is concern about involvement of the fibula due to the injury (caused by the clash with Santi Gimenez) of Ardon #Jashari, who hopes it is not a fracture. In that case, he would risk a long stop

Serie A should emulate Bundesliga model. We are pretty much a transition league as is so teams should stop heavily investing on old farts or building teams using rigid tactical systems and create an environment for young players to come to play here.

It's why Atalanta have been so successful at selling big. Numbers matter and Bergamo Epstein was consistently making mediocre players put up big numbers. Other clubs including JJ should follow suit.
