It's still a pretty attractive place with a roster full of talented players. Maybe no superstar in their prime will go there like when Neymar left Barcelona, but it should be attractive to French players who want to play in France and/or players who want to make a lot of money.

Maybe they'll go back to their strategy from the early 2010s and start picking off a bunch of the top talents from Serie A.
They can only dream about signing Gatti. He’s not for sale.

Locatelli went for 50m and is throated every day
You obsessed with Locatelli. And thought price was 35-40m.

Either way, I been expecting quite a bit from Ryan Cherki for past years, but any time I seen them play sparingly, he wasn't impressive outside his street ball dribbling style. And keeping up with his stats and reviews wise by their fans and media. Non of them have been satisfied with his performances.

Tho Lyon is run by clowns so it doesn't help. But there is a reason he is moving only for 15m. He has lacked consistency and impact considering the hype he started off with.

@Raphaël as our resident Lyon expert would know more. I know his contract is expiring and PSG been after him for a while, just like how they signed Barcola. But I wouldn't expect him to be rousing success in PSG until he grows as a player.

@Raphaël has already stated his thoughts on Cherki. He doesn’t endorse the player bc of poor attitude and lack of production.

I agree that we expect to see more but the kid is really young. And yes, the club is run by morons worse than our previous goof troop.

That doesn’t rule out his future potential. The Locatelli bashing is warranted. You can disagree but he’s a disappointment who gets free passes match after match.

It was one of the reasons why Grosso ended up getting sacked at Lyon as he was very critical of the player.

good acquisition for a bad team
WTF! 45 mill for a full back that thought it would be clever to give an easy pass away on the edge of his area to kill CL final

I agree with both of them. Overall since the start of his hype, he has been disappointing and still lacks the maturity and consistency to play for a bigger club.

It's not definitive but if he doesn't evolve he will have a career like Ben Arfa, shining more individually than collectively.

Lyon has its share of responsibility too, a club that is too unstable (3 different coaches in 6 months) and has been doing shit for a long time and no longer has the demands of a big club.

At first I thought he was going to make Lyon Real Madrid during the Zidane era, now I can see him going through an intermediate Roma-style club.

PSG is right to take advantage of it, 15 million for a player like him is worth taking the gamble. If he succeeds it's a big blow, if he fails you will always be able to sell him.

The new Cherki is a Rennes player Désiré Doué, young and already very strong.

Spot on

Can see the rationale and risk/reward behind Campos going for him around the €15m price

Ben Arfa is the best comparison as you said

Even though Cherki is more talented I’d choose Barcola over him tbh
