When I said scraps I meant Pogba. Don't get me wrong we all know what he's capable of but he's already in his prime and is still consistently disappointing, lacks leadership and/or injured. I'd want him here since our mid is shit, however given the possibility of signing someone that is great right now and is younger, my choice is easily made. Seems like Real Madrid's is too

Are you kidding? I would take peak Pogba over 2 Van De Beeks. There is no way he is the scraps in that equation, just because he made a bad choice in going back to Man u, doesnt change what a beastly player he is in the right now, VDB has to do ALOT yet in his career to even be compared to Pogba.

Age thing is the only angle I understand, but its not much of a factor when the older player is 27 and the younger is 23.

We're not speaking of peak Pogba. This Pogba is washed up and has all the wrong priorities. Some people still have rose tinted glasses. In the case he comes good which is plausible, he'll never be the same sensation and have that same fulgurant progression, i.e. he's not a youngster anymore. There's always some part of risk. Ideally I'd take both, and I want Pogba but Juventini tend to remember only his Juve stint. As an aside, generally I find our club doesn't prioritize young established talents enough. We used to be all about building for the future in 2911/2012 now we're patching.

Whats the risk? We had him for 4 years, we know him to perfection, THERE IS NO RISK. Pogba in mediocre team isnt a leader and cant accomplish much and it highlights his flaws more when asked to do too much in weirder roles (especially when he is bit of a dunce), Pogba in a real top team wins league titles and expresses himself in insane skillfull dynamic levels, Pogba in top national team is one of the reasons you become World champions.

Use him right, tell him to focus, and he gives you world class performances. It isnt complicated. We try to make football more complicated then it is, but it really isnt, especially in his case. Play him with better players and better team, and you see the devastating qualities he has. Play him in a average circus show where no one guides or supports him to express his qualities, and you get what we get in Man U, and immature flashy player trying to do too much (or too little, when there isnt a serious hierarchy to hold him accountable).

Only thing I agree with is he isnt young anymore, but he is about to turn 27 in 3 months, not 33. Age shouldnt be a factor at all in wether to get him or not. I fully get not liking him on attitude or personality level. But I have zero doubts of his qualities if he wears Juve shirt again. him and Dybala together again would be MAGICAL.

I MUCH rather have him then Van De Beek, who is a mid level young talent in comparison to the individual heights Pogba has shown he is capable of.

Even if Pogba wasnt in the equation, I'm not convinced Van Der Beek should be the one we should spending huge sums to carry our midfield. With De Jong yeah for sure, and we chose De Ligt for obvious reason, but VDB is more a quality complimentary player.

Fair enough in regards to Pogba. As I said, I do want to have him back.

In regards to van de Beek, we might not rate him the same. He's not the anchor in midfield as de Jong is but he has different qualities like bringing dynamism and connecting attack and midfield. I rate him highly.

I rate VDB, he is a dynamic CM/AM bybrid, classic mezzala all around type, but he isnt particularly skillfull at all, or focused good at any specific task, wether its physicality/tackling, passing or dribbling. More of an all around that can be used very well in a system. If you ask him to do too much more then that, IMO you will be dissapointed, especially if they are about to pay 70-90m region for him. He is a really good player, but he doesnt show the skill and impact of his young former teammates to warrant such investment IMO. As you said, his best aspect is connecting attack and midfield and being all around dynamic.

Real are probably investing in him to be the rotation/backup player when Modric is about to leave. But pretty much the same things they would ask VDB to do, Valverde is already doing it VERY well this season, and he is a better defensive player. So it will be interesting to see what Real are planning for their CMs.

My only issue with Paul was the way he left. He was a complete asshole IMO, all those ads and shits were a little bit too much and I understand the marketing part but as a fan it sucks really bad

Now, with RM out of the picture, PSG could still get in the middle and increase price. I have to admit that with a big sales discount, it's very appealing.

As I said before, If I have a short budget I would take Eriksen and Tonalli instead
