No, trust me, I understand the business aspect of it, my major was finance in school. What aggravates me is that a lot of people around here say things like, "Let's go for the CL this year, let's get player x!" and insert either some second-rate or former great player past his prime. That's not the way to do it, and it cannot be done like that. If you want to do things like that, you have to spend money.

Year 1, get Ribery, year 2, get Gomez, year 3, get Robben, year 4, get Javi, year 5, get Götze.

Obviously not exactly like that, but you get the idea. Instead of getting 3 or 4 role players a year for what adds up to 22M Euros, spend 25M Euros on one amazing talent or great young player who will perennially be on the team sheet.

That's what my argument is.
I dont think we can cough up that kind of money to sign such quality players. We were the top earners of the CL and our net spend is around 15M.

And what JuveJay said..

Officially the dirtiest game in the history of the World Cup?
Although this one had much more red cards in it which makes it a contender I still think Netherlands - Spain was dirtier

Erik Lamela will fly to London at some point over the next 24 hours to complete his move from Roma to Tottenham.
I think Roma are making a mistake: if he has another great season like last season they could ask for 40 or 50M. 30M isn't too much in today's market for a player like Lamela.

Quite possibly.

Don't remember much of Netherlands-Portugal.

Thought the dirtiness of Spain-Netherlands was blown out of proportion due to it being the World Cup Final.

De Jong's was the only real bad challenge I recall in the game.

I think Netherlands - Portugal had a few dives in it, some cards shouldnt be given whereas the WC final in 2010 had anti-football written all over it. It wasn't tactical fauling, it was just fauling due frustration for 120 mins from both sides

Yea, I had the fluminese last winter, I was shitting and puking all over the place. Gave me the cold sweats too.
I heard it's quite common to have gastronomic problems if you don't münchen your food well before you swallow.
