They gotta start thinking about replacing Xavi (perhaps Gundogan from Dortmund), getting a decent goalkeeper for a change wouldn't be bad too. A coach with enough balls to put Messi in his place. I'm glad they're spending on Neymar, pretty unnecessary from a footballing point of view, amazing talent, but hardly the first place that needs fixing in that team.
Thiago will replace Xavi, I think so, and so do a lot of Barca fans, not the more inteligent people in the world but I think that's the plan. A good goalkeeper will be important, but Valdes isn't leaving for free is he? I'm sure that if he goes to Monaco they'll get enough money to finance a new goalkeeper.

Neymar will make a big impact on Barcelona's offensive IMO. I'm not one of the ones that rate Neymar, but in my opinion after watching him play for Santos, Barca will suit him. And if they're smart enough to change a bit the way they play, making it a bit faster, and allow themselves to counter-attack here and there, it will be better for him and for Barcelona. Also now with Neymar there, Messi will have more space if you ask me, it's not like Pedro or Alexis were a zero and defenders didn't care about them, but Neymar will get a lot more of atention for sure.

yeah, they sold gotze, lewandownski and hummels and gondogna will probab leave too.

you can talk about the money they get, but in short term they wont find the right players to replace them unless they are willing to spend lots of money AND offer competitive salaries.

they won't make the cl next season
Hummels isn't going anywhere, and I don't think Gundogan will leave either. But what you mention is very important, in short term they wont find the right players to replace them, that's true. Maybe if they just sell Lewan and Götze it will be easier, maybe keep Reus as a LW and get a CAM (Eriksen or De Bruyne) and a ST, who knows, it will be hard to find someone to replace Lewan, but there are some quality strikers in the market, and with enough money Dortmund can be an attractive team to go after this year.

Did Barca pay 28M for 55% of Neymar's right (the share that Santos owned) or does that figure include the share tthat 3rd parties owned too?

Good question. It could be that they were able to get the lesser price by only purchasing the Santos owned rights. Usually, from what I've read, teams usually have to pay both parties (it's how 3rd parties make their cash, that and agents), in order to get the player.

Ay, seems like a very good deal then. I thought the 3rd parties remained its rights so they can receive a good chunk of his shirt sales.

Neymar is overrated.

I have never seen him play though.

Are there not any other suitors except Bayern for Dortmund's stars? Bayern was already a great team, now only hope for their failure remains Guardiola.

Some do. But not every player is a star worth millions in marketing, so they take what they can get. Mascherano and Tevez are a good example.

Guessing Santos got like 28m, and the third party owners got like 20m or so, pretty much doubt he just costs 28m, we will get official figures soon.
