Personally, the reason I said "the great" Sabatini was that I think he is overrated in this forum.
Yes, that overrated guy brought Kolarov (for 250k), Pastore, Hernandez, Cavani, Ilicic and others to Italy :agree:

Anyways, I don't think think it's fair to compare Sabatini and Marotta. Sabatini has more eye for the talent and Marotta is more finance-type of guy. That's why I see Paratici taking the SD role in the future.
Ah yes, now that makes sense.

Martinez for 12mln euros and Pepe have proved great financial movement for his behalf.

Dusan! offering a player for 10mil, and putting +2 mil as a back up price is a great deal by Barcelona, these usually are done on small clubs. It's a pathetic move by Roma. If he performs great, and other clubs are interested, it will be a win-win situation for Barcelona.

I don't know much about Sabatini, I was only talking about this deal, but at the moment, no one could be any worse than Marotta the clown.

If this was couple of months ago, I would agree. But I have decided to give Marotta this summer to prove me wrong. Let's hope he does.

I agree it's a great deal for Barcelona. On the other hand, I doubt Roma expects him to explode and do something great. If they have eyes set on another striker they could sign next year, then this deal might do good for them. But yes, I think it's perfect for Barca.

So what has changed your mind? Fact alone that we signed Pirlo and Pazienza?

Marotta will never be good, which is sadly a fact. But sure, we can give him ten more chances. I'm afraid even if he signs some 'great' player it will be a ridiculous price, but we'll see.

If it works as you said (with your details), then I think Barcelona will let him mature for a year or two, until he is ready to be a starter. If he does great in two years, they will buy back again. This way they will lose 2 million, actually they won't lose any penny if you include the wages paid by Roma. Very good deal, like I said , small clubs would benefit from deal like this, it's not like Marotta don't make similar ones or even worse :D

Moussa Sissoko to replace Toulalan? Top clubs in France must never have problems when replacing their departing stars. There is so many good and young talents in smaller clubs that they could just buy.

I hope Man Utd take the bait and splash the cash on Modric. Would be the most ideal destination for him. I'm unsure about Chelsea...especially since they don't even have a coach confirmed. Making such important transfers without a manager is completely whacked.
