You don't know this place well enough then, there are plenty in here who think he's an overrated little disgusting Koala :D

Probably still bitter that we didn't get him though.
I don't know this place enough anymore thats for sure, I barely venture out of the Misc Football section nowadays :p

I watch PSG fairly regularly, and I can tell you Veratti is a really good player. He's benched Cabaye one of my favorite French players for a long time, and rightfully so mind you. He should play a little more safely at times, he does tend to take unnecessary risks in front of the defense, but other than that there is no doubt at all about his ability, potential and football intelligence. Really good player, IMO theres no doubt that he's one of the best young midfielders in Europe right now.

Verratti is underrated in Italy, only because he made the right move at the right time.

I'd love to see him take Pirlo's place.

But I highly doubt we'll ever see him wear our jersey. I'd never blame him for accepting that offer, it was a perfect opportunity for him. Had he moved to some Italian club he'd probably either warm their bench or get loaned to Udinese or somewhere.

But what a great move by PSG, for only 12mln... and we get... :sergio:

And people who loathed him for his choice. Saying he would rot in Paris and end up in a shitty Serie A club. Oh well.. emotions.

He's highly rated at PSG, and has been doing very well for them. Theres no way they'd sell one of their most prized young assets, Bein Sports the sports channel whom Nasser Al Khelaifi is its chairman(He's also PSG's president) rave about Veratti all the time, shows how highly he's regarded by the owners IMO. So you can forget about Veratti ever going back to Italy :p

Not sure if anything could have been done about it. When PSG got Verratti it was already clear he was a world class player. PSG had all the money and were the up and coming club. I feel like he would have always chosen them.

Some even thought it was crazy to pay so much for :gsol: unproven player :gsol: they they justified the price of Bonucci, Ogbonna and others who came for 15mln or so.

But :gsol: no Serie A experience :gsol: is always the way to go.

Yeah, no doubt about it. It's just my pure wet dream :p but I know there's no way we could pull it off. We're not a top club anymore, let alone a huge spender.

Sad thing is that nobody even tried. But yeah, chances are big he'd pick PSG either way.

I agree, it was always going to be tough going into a bidding war with PSG. Let alone the fact they were/are willing to pay players high wages.

I wouldn't say it was clear that he was going to be a world class player at the time of his transfer. Of course he showed promise, plenty of it, but he barely had one excellent Serie B seasons under his belt. In hindsight, 12 million seems like a bargain, but at the time I think I remember myself valuing him at no more than 10 million, and besides I am certain that PSG would not have stopped at 12 million had we offered the same fee.

Back to him now, he's in my opinion the greatest Italian talent at present time, and by some margin.

Bayern signed Germany U-19 European Championship winner Joshua Kimmich (19). The defensive midfielder is currently with second division RB Leipzig, but returns to his former club Stuttgart at the end of the season in line with an option clause in the player’s contract. Kimmich will join Bayern on 1 July 2015 and sign a contract keeping him at FC Bayern until 30 June 2020.

Bild reporting a 7m€ fee for him. I m a big fan of Kimmich and think he ll develop into something special..future midfield general.

Podolski to Inter looks like a done deal.
He hasn't been given a fair chance at Arsenal. Whenever he's played he scores goals, and while he's not a great player by any stretch, he's quite an efficient player and a breath of fresh air in comparison with hacks like Giroud and Welbeck who at times look like they can't score to save their lives.

Turning 30 in June. Good tiem to join the retirement home of Serie A.

I liek Podolski. He'll do a decent job in Inter, but hopefully the rest of the team will continue being a bunch of shitters.

Who's Arsenal gonna sign instead (if any).

It's a pretty decent move for Inter. They have a solid squad right now imo. I think he will do well.

As far as I know it's going to be 1 million euros for 6 months loan. His wages are ~3.6mln so with taxes they'd pay around 5.5 (half of that) mln for his wages.

It's just a loan deal.

Probably Le Prof will look for some other pacey British player, who can run all day, has zero technical ability and no end product
