well i guess people can finally remove him from their dream team posts
seriously if arsenal sign mbappe and we don't there is something seriously fucked up about our transfer ambitions
you'd splash 120m on Mbappe? That's probably our entire transfer budget, I'm not sure we even have that much after we pay for Benatia and Cuads.

Ricardo Rodriguez is such a 2014/15 signing. Mehhhh. Biglia an even bigger meh signing too.
Biglia will be their best signing.

A team starting up upper mid level team thats needing urgent stability and leadership, Biglia is the perfect kind of midfield marshall for you. If you watched Lazio with him or without him, its NIGHT and DAY for sure.

You go from Montolivo/Locatelli/Sosa  To a very good tactical DM and your team will suddenly look less of a joke without your casual footie fan not noticing why. Kinda like how most casual viewers dont realize the effect a healthy Marchisio has had on Juve. Biglia is defenitely type of players people take for granted until they are out missing for a game.

Besides Keita's runs, he was pretty much one of the main reasons Lazio bossed Roma a while back:

Only thing is that Biglia is already 29/30 years old. He is a very underrated regista, dominating the midfield possesion play. Now for 3 years Lazio's big man and scored 4 seasons in a row a 7+ from Whoscored overall. Definitly a quality player.

Wolfsburg is such a weird club, especially in defense. Rodriguez is a good player and he will play as a left-back in Milan, not as a cb he did by Wolfsburg last year. His only weakness is his pace, he is too slow for a leftback nowadays, but his strenght is great.

? - ? - Suso
Kucka(?) - Biglia - Kessie
Rodriguez - Mussachio - Romagnoli - Calabria (?)
Donnarumma (?)

Huge upgrade already for them. Still big question marks for some positions tho. They need a new striker at least and who will be left-winger when Deulofeu leaves back on loan to Everton (or Barcelona buy him back?).

- Bacca should be sold, horrible performances in the Milan kit.
- Locatelli will be loaned to low-table team in A
- Pasalic on loan for another year would be a smart move, he is better than Sosa, Kucka etc.
- Donarumma?????
- Calabria is a promising rightback I think he will get a lot of minutes next season. Played already 988 minutes this season.

I prefer Milan back up top over Merda, Nipples etc.

I agree Biglia is a very good player. I wanted us to sign him to cover for Marchisio. He might also find a lot of motivation finally playing for a big club. Rodriguez is meh though.

But still better than Antonelli, Vangioni and De Sciglio. Maybe he can find his form back and he will be more than 'meh'.

In so far:
- Mussachio
- Kessie
- Rodriguez

'Close' according to reports:
- Conti

Sold/transferfree/back to loanclub:
- Honda
- Deulofeu
- Matias Fernandez
- Pasalic

Will be sold:
- Bacca
- Poli

This team still looks rather weak. Its kinda sad if such team reaches top 4, it just shows how league is weak. It looks like a Fiorentina that managed to keep their best players for a couple of years.
Yeah, it's not good enough to compare with Roma, Napoli and Inter.
The problem is, this year they had a team on paper what was worse than Torino (no joke) except Romagnoli and Donnarumma.

Rodriguez isnt all meh, has chance to become something more. He isnt just the dynamic top LB he was talked up to be for so long (yet atleast, still 24). He's offensive game is really good, nice dribbler, killer left foot for crossing or set pieces, has the kind of deft passing game that could make him a midfielder too (ala Blind). Bit slow as mentionned, and needs to be taught how to keep his positioning better, value when to attack or not etc (whenever I seen it, it was mainly vs Bayern, Dortmund when they got destroyed, so its not entirely fair on him lol, but showcased his athletic or positioning flaws for sure).

But he came to Italy and will have chance to work on himself tactically more. But the foundations of the player can be quite good. Big size for a fullback, reasonably strong and already mentionned the technical qualities. But as above poster said, perhaps tad too slow indeed.

:ratcafe:

Indeed. Even if they end up with Belotti as a CF, that side is not better than Napoli or Roma.

Milan need better coach, not just better signing.

But they need to be patient, as does us who evaluate them. Shit doesnt happen overnight as we learned, we had to sign the Pepe's, Matri's and Amauri's before we could get the big boys. Before we used to be rejected by Di Natale. But Milan approach seems to be just throw money at it, so lets see too if they have a plan with this. Atleast they targetting good kind profile players from the midtable clubs. It could be worse. They could be overpaying for random "big" hype options like Inter did with Gabigol, Kondogbia etc.

You can't expect anyone to lead a team full of mediocre players. It's far from a coaches fault. Milan has been for quite a while and they changed quite a few coaches ever since Allegri left them. It changed nothing. I'm not saying they had top coaches over there but they simply can't do anything with such disaster players.

The reason why we sucked for so many years is the same reason Milan sucks for many years now: buying wrong & bad players. The moment we started spending smart we got better. Sure, we had Conte, but we also bough players for peanuts that made worlds difference, such as Pogba, Vidal, Tevez, Pirlo etc.

Yes, but the most important thing is having the best possible coach to elevate you to next level. Montella is a good young coach, but very naive and pedestrian tactically. He likes possession style and some counters, but isnt a motivating man manager either besides not offering much tactically. He will be fine with improved squad, but is not the type of coach to immediately take you to next level as they need.

But they also need stability, so its fine for now to keep him until something better comes up.

Yeah but there's no top coach to lead a shit team, unless you discover some on your own -- which they have been trying to do before getting Montella who is more 'proven'.

I don't think any coach would manage them to have 4th spot last season while anything bellow that is quite horrible considering it's Milan we're talking about. They were 6th. When you look at the squad I'd never they are capable of reaching any more than that while not being a fluke season ala Leicester.

I think they are making a mistake trying to focus on quantity since even the above squad has like 5-6 new players in it. Almost completely new defense and midfield in one mercato, meh. What they need are game changers, pretty much like we do, but they could settle with lesser quality. They have enough mediocirty to be 5th as the league is rather weak, so they should rather focus on buying 2-3 players imo.
