Buffon or Zambrotta would be better leaders than Del Piero. Why are you saying that it doesnt matter who the captain is. In any sport, leadership is crucial
Mistake on my part. I wrote "it doesn't really matter who the captain is imo" but what I meant to say was that it doesn't matter who the captain is to me. Good leadership is certainly important, but for me it could be Buffon, Zambrotta, Nedved or Del Piero, I wouldn't be bothered.

I agree that nedved should be the captain...i mean del peiro would desearve it if he plays well...one thing i really hate about delpiero is that he is not consistant with his preformance...sometimes delpiero seems like the best player in the world and sometimes u feel like u wanna spit on him...
i mean i think he is a great but he pisses me off sometimes..he is good better then totti but he is not consistant with his preformance

I reckon DP is a good captain but....
He represents Juve good, but he's not a good captain. He's not dominant, he's not a leader and I would imagine him the first to chicken out when the time for battle would start. I would want someone like Ciro to be our C. I imagined Maresca to follow DP's foot-steps, but thanks to our brilliant managment that isn't be possible anymore. Since Juve is an italian team I cannot imagine us having a non-italian C. Zambrotta ishard-working, but lacks carisma IMVHO and Gigi is too hot-blooded. We have to find a mix of this two.

I still think that DP is the perfect captain. He is responsible for his and the teams actions. He is a role model. And he is wise.

Not to mention, he has played many games for Juve. If not DP, then Ciro, Tacchi, Nedved, Zambo in that order.

DP is a way better captain than Totti at Roma.....:D
I'm afraid I disagree. Totti may not be everybody's favourite personality, but he plays well and inspires his teammates to victory. I'd be much more encouraged watching my captain harass defences and bang in a very impressive tally of goals than I would watching Del Piero play. I'm sorry to say it, but it's the truth

If we were to disregard age, I'd go with the majority and choose Thuram or Nedved as my captain, followed closely by Buffon

Look around,Milan- Maldini, Inter-J zanetti. Both lead by example. Del Piero is not a leader. I would rather give it to Conte if he was in the 1st team. I think Nedved deserves it.

Yeah, Del Piero IMO isnt the fighter type, he's the kinda guy that would hide when the going gets tough, as he does. I'd rather like Neddy to be captain, or Miccoli, he has spirit.

In Italy, where my uncle has many friends there, i could see that all of them had tremendous respect for Alex, and although some said he's playing crap blah blah blah, they would all agree, and i'm not just talking about Juve fans, that they considered Alex to be on of the best people in Italian football, a true icon for any young person and a leader.

PS. They were all enraged about Totti's spitting and said nasty things about him :)

Forza Alex
