You really think these leagues will not want to have there best teams back (if some legal thing failed? And its not illegal, it was done in England, thats why there is the Premiership).

UEFA, FIFA they couldnt do anything. Its not illegal for a club to refuse to play in any other league, and its not illegal for them to set-up there own.

Like I said, TV contracts are short-term, once a contract has run out, the TV companies will have no grounds for a legal battle.

The G-14 have been talking the same BS for 10 years, and it still aint happened. I don't see how Glazer's appearance is gonna change that. Cos, frankly it's gotten to the point where the G-14 are comfortable with their deal with UEFA. They grumble about money, they get mo money. They grumble about mathces, they get less matches. Who the hell would regulate the ESL anyway?

FYI, even the NFL has an independent controlling body.

Yeah, and the Premiership is still regulated by the English FA, and it was recognised as the top flight of English football. If the FA had refused to support it, and rather recommended the then First Division teams for UEFA competitions (as it is their right to do) where would the EPL be today? I'll tell you. It wouldn't exist.

I have to agree with Zlatan. No matter how many fans would want to watch such a league, the risk of financial meltdown is too great. Remember that the TV companies always get more of the money. In an ESL setting, the clubs would demand at least 50-55% of the profits. The TV companies would collectively refuse. I seem to recall hearing somewhere that without TV you're as good as dead.

Hey Nicole, I think you are of on a tangent here. Too bad that Glazer's take over is going to mean the end of ManU as we know them, but it doesn't mean that the other 'big' clubs are going to let themselves be dragged down as well.

@Zlatan, I really dont giva damn what happens to Man Utd, afterall, they took such pride in being the "richest club on the planet". At every opportunity Man U fans would sing in my ears that they had mo' money than Arsenal could ever dream of. How they could afford to sign the best players, while we had to go hunting in the basement for talent. But what talent we have unearthed in this way. Henry, Vieira, Fabregas, Clichy, Senderos, Flamini, van Persie, etc. We never had so much money, but like Dolly Parton sang, we were sure proud of our many coloured coat.

My only concern is that Glazer shouldn't be allowed to use this takeover of his as a spring board to destabilise the EPL. Period.

Indeed. But you are right (in one your previous posts), Manyoo fans are generally arrogant and like to brag how they're the richest club in the world.
