:howler:

Yep, Glazer wants to and will succeed in destroying the whole EPL. Makes a lot of sense.

At least that post gives us something to hope for.
Yeah finally you will stop getting wrecked by English teams huh?

Thank god. :D

What impact will this have on the footballing aspect of the club?I'm sure Glazer has worked out how to make the club a successful business and all,but will the football be affected?Fergie's future in the team?

I'm sure Glazer is someone who at least has an idea as to how to win over the fans.Keep Fergie, buy a couple of good players and generate success on the pitch and nobody will complain.

@ Andy: Why would we want the EPL destroyed much as we despise it?

@ - vOnAm -: Hw would make a Juventus (or do we say Moggi) kind of management out of the team. That is a recipe for disaster. We have been able to survive this season simply because we have a great coach and some fabulous players ATM. In a lot of other cases we would be mid-table or worse, fighthing relegation. Our best players this season have been those who didn't come cheap, Eme, Cana and Ibra. Mutu's yet to kick a ball, and I know he's a great player, but do you think we'd have gotten him free if not for Chel$ki's lunacy?
I am a believer in training the youth, and having a great youth setup ala Ajax, but you also have to go out and buy the best if you want to be competitive, and the bset do not come cheap.

I agree, Nicole's signature is way over the top. It should be death to Alex Ferguson. Had Ol' Red Nose not decided to bring his horseracing buddies McManus and Magnier into Man U to give him more control over board decisions, then this takeover wouldn't have occured. Had he not then decided to go and pick a fight with those same powerful friends of his over some horse sperm, they woulda never got pissed off and decided to end their business realtionship with him. Becos that's what it was. A business relationship. McManus and Magnier were never football fans, they were business men, and they saw a chance to make a killin at Man U, and they took the chance when it came along. In the end, they've made a profit of 70 and 80 million pounds each. And gotten their vengeance on Fergie. Sounds like a good deal to me:D

SHORT TERM ----- good for football fans to watch the Manure corp to get damaged....

Med Term:----Manure will probably regain their footablling power....bad for the rest of football.

Long term: Surely this is a foothold for Glazer to move into erupoean football....as someone said, could he be planning to bypass uefa and creat a european suprerleauge.......Imo its highly unlikely, but the threat is still there..

So for football, big rich tycoons messing with football teams to purely get as much financial gain as possible.....imo thats bad for all of us in the longterm.

ACtually in football buying the most expensive doesnt promise u titles. Juve's type of management insures that the club, as much as possible, doesnt loss money and infact tries to gain profit through it as so it can be used in the transfer. And it has been like this for some time. Juve usually buys mediocre players with potentials, then make stars out of them, buffon is the only recent exception.
But ur thoughts do ring some bells in my head like, y would he pick MU when they are one league with Chelsea, it'd be hard to outbuy their buying power. thats y I think they are going to try to gain success not on big name signings, but who knows, Im pretty sure he'll try to market MU in the US so thats where the money might come from to buy big! OR u'll have about 5 American on the starting line-up to ensure money from the US (merchandising and sponsorships)

Just a thought

Won't be that easy my friend. Football still has a lot to do to become a force in the US...

Having said that, I don't think Malcolm Glazer will last as a threat. He's 76, and I don't think he'll last 10 years.

According to the BBC, Glazer's borrowing too much for his take over to have any meaningful impact, especially if the team fail to make an impact in the CL next season.

God there are some narrow minded-short-signed people here

FINE YOU WANT IT EXPLAINED HERE YOU GO!

    1. Bad news for Man Utd

    a. Putting the club into debt of 300-500m.
    b. SELLING a stadium (Old Trafford) which is ours, fully-paided for and LEASING it back!!
    c. A sharp increase in ticket prices, merchandise etc etc etc.
    d. THE FACT THAT WE ARE PAYING HIM TO TAKE OVER THE CLUB, BUT TRANSFERING THE DEBT TO US, WE'RE "PAYING" HIM TO TAKE US OVER!! HOW IS THAT LEGAL!

    2. Bad news for football

    a. Why do you think Glazer (a dodgy but Successful businessman) would take such a risk, in a business and a club that cant really improve profit margins? Its simple, TV rights. The premiership has it so that all of the clubs in the premiership come together, by breaking away Glazer intends to make MUCH more money from TV rights meaning "smaller" clubs make less money.
    b. He intends to create a "European Super League", this is a league of about say 14-20 clubs, all the best. There will be no relegation or promotion from the league, and it means that these clubs will suck up ALL TV rights ever. EVERY club will make a HUGE increase in profits, and it means whoever wins, will increase there profits 10-fold. And all other clubs outside this league will die out. FACT

To all those reading this, thinking it'll never happen, then you are a fool. All these owners, presidents etc etc all they want to do is get more money, this will GUARENTEE a 100% increase in profits to every club, regardless of if they come last, who isnt going to want to join a league with a guarentee like that?

All equals to the DEATH OF FOOTBALL as we know it.

Well unless he is going to buy over the other 20 clubs, that plan will never go anywhere.
Really? So you think people Abramovich, Perez, Moretti, Moggi etc etc etc, wouldnt join a league in which EVERY year, they will make a profit, REGARDLESS of if there team finish LAST?

The idea of a "European Super League" has been going on for ages and Michel Platini has it in his agenda. The point is Glazer as the president of manyoo has no power to make this tournament, he is still the president of ONE club and one club only and this cannot make him create tournaments in Europe.

As for the "European Super League", if it happens I am sure there will be relegations promotions, personally I don't want it to happen.

He wouldnt transfer the debt to you, he would probably use manchester united to repay the dept. Nothing illegal there.

And there is already an European Super League. It's called the Champions League.

THATS THE WHOLE POINT! There WONT be promotion or relegation! AND Yes he can, as the owner of Man Utd, he can influence a great deal, for example. Presidents, like Perez, Moretti, Berlusconi, Abramovich and Moggi. Would all join this league as well, and you KNOW they would.

That is Man Utd, Chelsea, Real, Inter, Juve and Milan. Laporta would bring Barca, Valencia wouldnt want to miss out, Bayern etc etc etc.
