Obinna, used to play for Enyimba. TBH I scoff when I hear them say he is 18, he should be a minimum of 23. The only players that are really young in Nigeria (shamefully I must say) are those who went through the youth academies. Which is why people like Obafemi Martins and Ayo Makinwa are not age cheats.

As for talents in the league, I think the most impressive for me would have to be Ambrose Vanzekin if he keeps his head on the ground...

Vanzekin is a goalie, and he is very good. Young too. I stand corrected on Nsofor Obinna, he came up thru the Enyimba youth ranks, so he is likely really 18...

Meantime such drama at the Nigerian FA Cup final (Enyimba vs Lobi). Steven Saviour scored for Lobi within 2 mins of the start of extra time and Enyimba replied starightaway from Atanda Sakibu's header after a rebound from Tyavkase's rocket. 2 beautiful goals. Flattering exhibition of Nigerian local soccer.

I HAVE TO applaud Enyimba fans. The stadium is virtually filled up even as Aba is 50kms away from the match venue ie the Liberation Stadium,Port Harcourt. Neither Doplhins nor Sharks both based in Port Harcourt have ever pulled one-fifth of the crowd I see today. Carnival-like atmosphere that harks back to the Challenge Cup Finals (old FA Cup name) of the pre-1995 era.

Okay, most of the Lobi supporters here came in all the way from Makurdi (some 1000km up North as far as Port Harcourt is concerned), sponsored by their provincial government. But the Enyimba supporters came on their own...

Lobi seem content to play for PKs as Enyimba push forward again and again...

Solomon David for Enyimba now. Scores 4-3

Now Lobi must score. Stephen Saviour to do the honours. Scores 4-4.

    Adegoke thunders in 6-4
Duke Udi is up next. Saved by Dele! Enyimba win!

Based on the current league table as seen here, will most likely do the double!

Pandemonium in the stadium as fans pour into the pitch singing Nzogbu, nzogbu, Enyimba, enyi...

This has undoubtably got to be the most exciting Challenge Cup final since BCC Lions won it back in 1990. Great for Nigerian football!

While not an Enyimba fan (I am a fan of Bendel since I grew up in Benin City), their style of play has won my heart, and this double will make up for their losing the continental crown...
