Roma snub Legrottaglie bid Wednesday 29 December, 2004

Roma boss Gigi Del Neri has ruled out a January swoop for Juventus stopper Nicola Legrottaglie.
The latter has been linked with the capital club after failing to break into Fabio Capello’s Turin plans.
But Del Neri, who bossed the defender at Chievo Verona, insists he won’t arrive in the New Year.
"A few players could join in January like Siena’s Rodrigo Taddei," he told the Corriere dello Sport newspaper.
"As for Legrottaglie, he is an excellent player but he is somebody that we don’t need at this moment in time."
Although a transfer to Roma now looks unlikely, Legrottaglie is still expected to leave the Old Lady.
Whispers suggest that he could quit Serie A altogether with apparent interest from English and Spanish clubs.
However, Legrottaglie is understood to have rejected a move to Feyenoord. The Dutch team wanted him on loan until the summer.
Meanwhile, another Bianconeri defender in the shape of Igor Tudor is set to depart the Stadio Delle Alpi.
The Croatian – who can also be used as a central midfielder – is wanted by Standard Liege, Bologna and Cagliari.
