The talk about Juve being some Italian nationalist club has been over exaggerated for a long time. We have 9 Italians currently. 2 are backup GKs, 1 is Kean who is a step out the door and only Chiesa and Bonucci are starters. This isn’t the Conte era Juve and it hasn’t been that way for a long time.
Anyways I’m as much an Italian fanboy that there is but I don’t want Zaniolo, he is glass.

And 400 pound defensive coordinator wearing a windbreaker at all times

Exactly what? We already bought a LB/RB. He's having his medical tomorrow according to reports. And a CB is definitely coming.
And yeah, postponing makes the current budget completely irrelevant. We're saving so much in salaries right now, we'll be in a completely different situation next season.
On Zaniolo: 40-50 mil is about normal / maybe slightly inflated because of the injuries, for the talent Zaniolo possesses. I'm still waiting for all those names from guys that say there are numerous better players out there for less money.
I'm afraid in the current climate, you need to spend 70-80 million to get proven stars. And 40-60 million, only gets you these Zaniolo, Chiesa types right before there breakout. Even if I find it disgusting and there's risk involved in both types of deals ofc. I can perfectly understand the need to go Italian again and then it's either him or Berardi, who's much older and done growing...

Zaniolo feels like a ‘cherry on top of the cake’ signing. Really like him and want to see him at Juve. But at the moment we do t even have the cake?
Before signing Zaniolo we need 2x CB if MDL leaves, a starting LB, a starting LW as we have 0 threat down our left and a back up to Vlahovic. Kostic to me is more of a priority at the moment than Zaniolo

Zaniolos main position would be as a winger on the right. We start the season with a front three of: Di Maria - Vlahovic - Zaniolo
Eventually when Chiesa is back and the team is starting to play better, Zaniolo could play as a mezzala next to Pogba, or as a CF backing up Vlahovic. Zaniolo's hold up play is quite good and he's as tall as Vlahovic as well.

A winger is as much of a priority as any other position. We lost 3-4 players in attack from last season, Cuadrado and Di Maria will only play the next season and you're left with Chiesa only. And this season too you will start without Chiesa. You cannot play the modern football everyone wants without wingers and width. We need four of them for two positions.
And nobody knows what's in plan for CB and LB because the club is not talking. If at the end of the window we stay at Sandro starting and no new CB signed I will riot too, but I seriously doubt that with the impending De Ligt sale.
Zaniolo is not related to other targets IMO. Club looks at him as an investment 'out of the budget' meaning that he is someone they cannot miss on and he does not affect other signings.

Di Maria will play on the left when season starts because Chiesa won't be there, Zaniolo/Cuadrado on the right. And then when Chiesa comes back they all rotate because Chiesa won't be able to play 5 games in a row and Zaniolo will have to be managed, Di Maria and Cuadrado are old.
The important thing is that whoever plays out of them 4 we're safe and you have good players out there.
And we won't sign another striker as long as Kean is there. He might not be preferred by Allegri there, he might want to leave, but he actually has to go before we sign someone in attack

Cambiaso is coming and Agresti said he will be evaluated during the USA tour if he stays or leaves. And there were rumours that he didn't want to go to Inter because they were going to loan him out again. Club has followed him from the moment the winter mercato ended so that means something too.
The important thing after MDL's sale is to get Koulibaly, a natural left-sided WC CB because he will solve a lot of problems and help other CBs too.

Allegri always defended in 442 no matter what position we played. The important thing is he doesn't improvise in attack, defensively almost everyone defends in 442

tbh I have little faith that Allegri wouldn't improvise even if we bought him players that specifically fit 433, he'd still try to find a way to defend with 2 banks of 4 or turn Chiesa into a forward.

- I think this strategy is fine for now and i dont have any big issue with it. I see nothing wrong with building a strong loyal core.
Chiesa was a fantastic investment ,besides the injury, Locatelli will be useful, Vlahovic is a no brainer and im sure Zaniolo will perform too even tho his injury history makes me nervous.
However, this Italian "core" building or whatever we wanna call it should not get into the way of other pressing issues:
The problem for me is the balance/priority:
- We really need a CB of high quality if De Ligt is moving. This is absolutely crucial for us to have a good season, like it or not.
- Left back/Right back position is essential in modern football and we constantly seem to ignore this. We have been playing the living shit out of Cuads the last seasons, the poor guy. An actual quality heir/backup is needed.
- Also constantly going for domestic talent is kind of blinding: there is a lot of great talent out there: in Ligue 1 for example there are literally hundreds of promising youngsters, many of them available. Im surprised we dont look there more often.
I really hope we see the bigger picture this time.
