Only one close to "wonderkid" in that list was Mandragora, since he was talked about since he was 16-17, but pretty much wrecked by consistent major injuries.

I would think if they were actually wunderkinds they would have cost a lot more than a couple million. The most expensive guy on that list was 20m and he was closer to his mid 20s than his teenage years, so could you even label him as a wunderkind?

But yeah, prospects get hyped all the time and obviously not all of them are gonna work out. Doesn’t mean you should stop trying to go after them. I’d much rather this strategy than the one Marotta loved of signing a bunch of 30 year olds.
