If I were Athletico I would make sure not to trigger the purchase option sending him back to Juve while telling him to refuse all destinations next season saying he only wants them just like we tried with Kolo Muani.

This way they'll likely get another loan for a lousy fee and save themselves the €32m but still get the player.

Players always hold the cards in these situations.

I think this guy will be eternally loaned out like Melo, Arthur and many before them until we pay to terminate his contract.

Hope I'm wrong.

I don’t think he should be compared to those players who wouldn’t start in any good European side.
If he continues to do well and keeps injuries largely at bay, at worst I think they will ask for a discount on that fee. If that doesn’t suit then hopefully loan with obligation to buy.

If Kostic and Rugani have somehow worked their way back into the team this season, I don’t see why he couldn’t next season if we get lowballed with a loan and no obligation to buy.

️ Nico #Gonzalez:

"#Simeone gives me confidence, I want to be back to what I was at #Fiorentina.
I don't want to talk about what didn't work at #Juve. I didn't feel like myself, but this is football and we know how things change. Now I'm happy to be here."
