Trezeguet,Nedved performance was the major factor to reach the final, and that zalayeta..DP?hardly
Del Piero and Nedved were equally important, but surely DP was right up there with him. He was absolutely awesome in the first round and TBH the main reason we won against Real at home. He was our driving force that game. Not that I'm taking anything away from Pavel though, he also was brilliant.

No, I didn't mean without him we wouldn't have been there...I said he's the major factor we did reach Manchester....Above the goals he scored he really performed good, the Barca 1st leg in Delle Alpi, he was unstoppable If you also remmber.
the only match I remember he performed good/better was against Real madrid. that year we were playing very bad, midfield problems.we were very lucky to reach the final, ofcourse Dp had the role, just like Zlayeta had the role to finish them against Barca and Madrid, also trezeguet and mainly Nedved (he deserved the ballon dor for that),and also Tudor's second goal against deportivo.birindelli's assist also, against barca and his goala gainst deportivo first match

I didn't agree with that post, because u ignored all these, and gave all the credits to DP.

:howler: since when you follow Lippi Donny boy???

Did you forget the goals he scored season 01 up till season 03...not to mention the assists...and him and Pavel being a major factor for us for being in Old Trafford playing the final...or you just like to moan alot???

thats not the major point. this is

have to agree with the Don man here..Lippi is notorious for skipping town when things get ugly. When the team wins he is the first one at a press conference and when things go bad he doesn't answer any questions...

He pulled his disappearing acts with Juve and Inter and then again with Juve...a coach like a player sticks with his players through thick and thin otherwise he is just an ignorant self centered opportunist...part of the job is motivation.

I didn't ignore no one....I can't Ignore Zalayeta's fantastic goal agains Barca in Camp Nou, nor I can deny Tudor's powerful leg that saw us in the quarter finals. But my point is Dp plays a big role for the 2003 Champions League Final. And to say that you only remmber one good game by Ale at that time has no sense at all. You should re watch the games.

We were not lucky that year, I remember we were winning the league easily and the games we played in the second round, even though tough, the wins were deserved. I think Milan were lucky to win the cup with a penalty shootout.

Milan knocked out Ajax and Inter:D
We finished winter champs in Serie A that season and began to fizzle for a few games in mid Feb/March. We faced an Inter who wanted us DEAD let alone beat...more over,
we had beaten Real Madrid back in the 'group of death' earlier in the CL round with Costacurta starting over Nesta. Juve also was inches from getting eliminated until Figo missed a penalty shot in the first game which would have sealed their fate. Know your history....

Considering the fact that in the final Del Piero was NOWHERE to be seen and MIlan dominated hte match a to z ... disallowed goal and two flying saves by Buffon on Inzaghi... plus we were one man short (Roque Junior hobbled on the field for the last 15 mintues) in which Juve did not even get a shot on net...
You obviously didn't watch the game or remember that season otherwise you would know NOT to make statements like these which just BURN (ouch) you

Inzaghi if IIRC was offside so it shouldn't have counted in the first place.

But all in all I think Milan played a better match, not a totally dominating one though.

There was his bicycle kick assist that almost resulted in a goal in the first half.....Justice was served 2 years later IN San Siro:D:eyebrows:
