woah thanks. i generally dont need help for my class or anything as i generally ace every spanish test (i have the unfair advantage over everyone that i watch gol tv :D )

having the thread would just sort of help me learn any random street words and typical cultural things aside from the basic grammar/terms related to certain subjects

Its better to know idioms than just textbook spanish. You should get mexican friends :D

yea see i would, but where i live thats not socially acceptable :D (no offense to anyone intended, well, maybe a little bit)

i think they should allow language threads as long as the language stays in that thread, because it would really help me out to have an english based place where i can learn spanish from fluent speakers. its not like theres anywhere else where people will waste their time explaining shit to me

i just remember my incident with the flaws of learnign textbook spanish. we went skiing once and my friend went to a group of hispanic guys and said

"El esqui de fondo" and did the cross country motion

then "el esqui nordico" and did the motion

"el slalom" and so forth

they though he was a coke head
