not too long ago (during the summer), I saw a second string England team OWN the first string USA team

USA looked pretty feeble in that contest, IMO...

the claim to fame is that the USA is better than Mexico...but I think the Mexicans are pretty overrated, also

how FIFA has both these teams ahead of Italy in the rankings is fucking beyond me !!!

No offence, usa are an ok team, but their last tournament flattered them, dont see them getting past the group or last 16 at best...

Personally i dont think they are as good as they were then either

Yeah indeed... Some of these seedings don't make too much sense to me

-----

Pot 1: Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, England, Czech Republic, France, Sweden

Pot 2: Germany, Croatia, Italy, Turkey, Poland, Spain, Romania

Pot 3: Serbia & Montenegro, Russia, Denmark, Bulgaria, Norway, Ukraine, Slovakia

Pot 4: Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Ireland, Latvia, Israel, Scotland, Slovenia

Pot 5: Hungary, Finland, Estonia, Wales, Lithuania, Albania, Iceland

Pot 6: Georgia, Macedonia, Belorussia, Armenia, Northern-Ireland, Cyprus, Moldova

Pot 7: Liechtenstein, Azerbeidzjan, Andorra, Malta, Faerøer Islands, Kazachstan, Luxembourg, San Marino

Hopefully we'll be in a group like this:

Netherlands

Denmark
Belgium
Wales
Northern-Ireland
Luxembourg

Holland and Belgium to progress

I know. But I would love to see a combination of the Benelux nations vs Germany and some British nations as well as I like 'British' football as a whole.

It isn't? I always get these wrong...

Vinni, did you even watch that England match? Don't think you did, my friend.

First of all, that was not our first squad...Wolffe, Dempsey, Pope, and as well as four others are not first team players. Wolffe and Pope have no business on my National Team.

Secondly, England did not "own" us...the first half was pretty even as well as the second. We did not play entirely badly and the score was only 2-1 between an England B team and a US B team...of course the former has more resources than we do.

And yeah, lets count everything on a friendly match because this is where everything matters..

The only thing this new US team lacks is experiance in some spots on the pitch...other than that we are faster, younger, and more skilled in attack. Reyna is still on top of his game and he is the player we rely on the most to elevate us to the next level. If he somehow gets injured before the World Cup I might agree with your statements, Paul.
