Yeah, that's what they said last year. We shall see, however I'm not expecting an entertaining night from these two managers until I see it. A 0-0 draw seems like a great possibility tonight, however hopefully I'm wrong and we will see some great football for a change.

Nick, I have 700 bucks on Milan, so they better pull through unlike over the weekend.

No offense, but I can't stand people cheering for other nations other than their own. I find that just pathetic and soccer will go nowhere in this country if everybody does this crap.

Burke, you're third generation German FFS. What the fvck are you thinking?

Andy,

I have been cheering on Italy since the 1982 WC......

The farthest back I remember the USA team is when they played Italy in a BS tournament back in 1992, then WC 1994

I have NO desire to watch the MLS...I think playing soccer on an American football field is a joke...

and if I have a boy, and he shows any promise with soccer, I will do what some other families I know have done...take him to Italy, get him into one of their soccer academies, so he can learn from the best

Andy, following along with what Vinman said, I was a child, but I followed Italy at WC 1970, because my father flew to Mexico City to watch I Azzurri. I wondered where the USA team was. In 1974 and 1978 I was able to better understand what the WC was all about, and I followed Italy still as I wondered if USA had a soccer team. In 1982 I watched Italy lift the trophy . . . still no USA. In 1986 I attended matches in Mexico including Italy v. France, but I could not help but notice that USA still had no team. By 1989 when I heard the USA team was playing a WC qualifier, I already had 20 years of Italia supporting under my belt.

So, I ask you this - If State College, PA gets an NHL team are you going to suddenly drop the Red Wings?

Unfortunately this leaves the impression that's the stereotype of most Americans: that depends on whether they win anything or not.

If by Italy being the best you mean Dutch Surinam, then yes.
