The first shot is always a blank; part of protocol in how a Dutch police officer must load his gun.

I suppose it's more about intent to kill. Which is a vague area, legally speaking, I am aware. I'm not an expert on the matter; all I know is that if a police officer in this country kills someone - he will be suspended and an investigation will follow.

I'm sure it wouldn't work in your culture. But you'd be wise not to judge other cultures by your own standards. Our society doesn't work the same way yours does; we have different norms and values so instead of laughing at a foreign system, at least show some respect and inform yourself before you pass any form of judgement.

I'm not really dissing your methods of law enforcement...I just think shooting warning shots when the criminal you're trying to apprehend is wielding his own weapon just doesn't make sense. Sometimes you only have a split second to react, and if you decide to shoot a warning first it might cost you your own life. Not to mention wasting a good round, shooting it God knows where...just found that a bit humorous.

European police doesn't work that way, imo, they have a better system.

Plane Crash at Stadio Olimpico Kills 2 Footballers, Pilot.


The Rome Derby between AS Roma and Lazio ended in horror today as a private jet crashed on to the Stadio Olimpico pitch, killing Vicenzo Montella.

The Olimpico crowd was going wild after Montella scored for Roma, as the goal had given his side the lead with only minutes of play left on the referee's watch. After Montella scored, he promptly ran towards the sidelines while doing his famous "airplane" celebration that Italian football fans have come to love. Little did Montella know his planar celebration would be cut short by an actual aircraft.

"The jet, it just fell out of the sky and landed on Vincenzo" stated Lazio captain Massimo Oddo. "I have never seen anything like it...and it's terrible that Montella did not expect such a thing to happen.

The private jet, owned by London's Arsenal FC, was transporting Dennis Bergkamp to his villa on the island of Sicily. It was earlier reported that Bergkamp finally decided to use the method of air transportation after years of refusing due to personal fears.

Debris from the fallen aircraft injured five other onlookers, including Lazio's Paolo Di Canio. It is being reported that the Lazio stalwart will have to undergo the procedure of amputation on his right arm.
