Ask a gay person what they are (assuming that they are comfortable answering) and they will say "gay".

Ask a hetero the same thing and they will say "a doctor", "a father of 2", "a Lutheran".....but never a heterosexual.

Depends on the issue. Many people say they are 'black' first. Being a minority in whatever it may be can be the lens through which you perceive everything.

As to the gay / straight divide of hiv sufferers.... Last report i read regarding america was 53% gay to 47% straight... Not much of a difference as i see it

I dont believe that at all... Ive spoken too many people of both sexualities and unless in a situation where sexuality clarification is important (eg. aa bar at night) I have never known anyone to say their sexuality as an answer to those types of questions....

That report is not true. Over 90% are gay. Some 5-6% are IV drug users. The rest are straight (and they may be saying they are straight for fear of being discriminated against).

My point is that the behavior is bad on a health level (ie I am not bringing in my morality at all )
