Oh, BTW, I've sent a PM to Marty asking him to unban Juve_the_best and Burke, so be patient, I'm sure he'll do it as soon as he sees the PM.
I think I missed something when I was in Hawaii drinking mai tais...

Did Burke show his other nut or something??

Lol sorry Nick I have barely slept in the last 40 hours and had the great intuition of telling my clients I was back today, resulting in a hurricane of work which will prolonge my agony.

However, in a nutshell, it's been an interesting though not always relaxing journey (partly thanks to my sis). At the end of the day it was just Boston and surroundings, NY and Chicago.

I like to take the time to explore cities I've never been to, so decided to stay in the latter for 6 days rather than make a touch and go to Canuckville. The fact that we managed to get a condo for the price of a flat helped too.

1) Boston. Nice, civilised and "liveable" as always. I really regret not having met the Sergio in RI. Oh yeah Serge I saw a few of those new Mustangs and it looks somewhat of an unbalanced car. I like that in fact : as much as I appreciate the aggressive front, I would need time to get used to their bottom.

Not much to say apart from that : I just toured the usual places with "mi sora", who had never seen them (Cambridge, the North End, Chinatown, Beacon Hill, and the host parents took us to Concord and Lowell for a bit of history too). Spent a night in the dorms at Northeastern University just to remember the old days. Oh yeah on a side note I discovered the O' Reilly factor on Fox..

2) NY is NY, so no surprise. We rented an apartment in West 73st street but struggled to find edible food (e.g. non liquid ricotta) and non supersized portions in the nearby supermarket.

Ground Zero : I noted they added signs retracing the attack since the last time I went. I think they should have kept it more humble, but oh well. Took her to the Guggenheim, wanted to see the Moma but it was closed. I was chased by a rabid squirrel in the park and hung around the Village and Soho where I bought some interesting books in English. I ate in an good Japanese resto around 30th street. Affordable, excellent service and food (I have the address somewhere if you're interested).

I lost half a day in Russian Brooklyn waiting for that psycho of my friend Viktor. He finally showed up with this head-shaved monster kossakh who only spoke Russian and had one eye staring at the sun and the other aiming at the floor. And no it wasn't just the chronic we were smoking.

I found Patrick Bateman's American Garden on West 81st, took a pic but sister lost her cam. I was gonna buy a new one anyway, and the rest was basically a shopping spree (thank God for the strong euro).

3) The Windy City was a bit of a mixed blessing, as I got somewhat bored after 3 days. I didn't venture as much as I'd have liked to in the suburbs because the metro there doesn't look as safe as in NY (black crack addicts hanging around my sister basically : not good).

Also, the museums are too expensive for what they offer (Toulouse Lautrec expo at the Art Institute for 19 dollars a person ??). Im not even really a museum guy, but you guessed it : the sister is. The wind was nowhere to be felt btw as it was as hot and humid as Ferragosto in Crotone.

Sears Tower, the Loop, John Hancock, Millenium Park, lake Michigan yada yada.

I ate the best dim sums in Chinatown though, and was positively impressed by the middle resto (on first floor) in the Italian village complex (then again I better had for the price they asked). I tried those hormone ribs at the Miller's pub, because you must try everything once I guess.

I tasted as many local beers as possible only to time and again be recommended...Stella.

I went to Andy's jazz club in the North side and enjoyed a relaxing night there, studying the diversity of the local fauna. Stiff upper lip yuppies complaining about the table. Edgar Hoover lookalikes holding silicon bimbos against their sweaty paunch. Lone sandal-wearing banjo boys scrutinizing the bottom of their empty glass of Goose Island. And the swinging sound coming from Ray Charles' long lost cousin's saxophone to top it all.

I also tried a blues club with two Arab friends of mine who happened to be in Chicago too. Good stuff as well but a far more homogeneous public. Being practically the only non Americans/wasps got us, and especially the French-speaking Arab guys, some unwanted attention. Plus everybody kept thinking that classy sex goddess of my sister was my g/f, which had the effect of intimidating the female population. That sucked because Im positive about the fact that my shirt and especially my shoes, which that strolling polisher assaulted without even asking, were making an impact.

Too bad I missed Montréal really, but hey I had only 12 days and anyway my sister is doing her "Socrates" in that good uni there next year (forgot the name : Miller? Milger??), so I'll probably have the leisure to visit it in a near future.

HAHAHAHAHAHA I knew centrocampista was that idiot Seven. What kind of imbecile says he will leave the forum forever only to come back, make another account, and a make post in this very same thread stating that he is from Belgium? You say Menace is retarded. :D

And Seven's most recent actions just go to show that his only reason in being here is to gain attention and piss people off. Once everybody blocked him he just couldn't take life without attention anymore and tried to fool everybody with his new account. I mean come on at least be creative...Belgium? He should have said he's from Al Qaeda.

Nah man, he brought back some old accounts from the dead. Marty unbanned a lot of the dual accounts, and we just brought them all into play again but I guess Zlatan was not very happy about that. Zlatan also thought Loganopolous was another dual account, however that was not true...Loganopolous is actually Burke's sister, so that is indeed not a dual account. Hopefully Zlatan did not ban Burke just for his sister's account, though.

But thankfully Marty will unban Burke tomorrow.

Ahh, Mr. "Fair and Balanced," huh? That must have inspired objectivity. :D

Yes, please. Apart from the Theatre district around 46th street and a few near Rockefella and Soho, I do not know of any decent restaurants in Manhattan worth going to.

Thanks for the explanation Andy (and Don Bes).

I have a hard time relating to the whole multiple account thing myself, because I don't see the point. I probably just haven't come to appreciate the merits of a multiple personality disorder.

But anyway, it would be good to have him back.

Designed for those who don't think Andy Rooney is annoying enough.

The wind was nowhere to be felt btw as it was as hot and humid as Ferragosto in Crotone.
New Yorkers gave Chicago the "Windy City" moniker anyway, basically saying that the Chicago promoters for the World's Fair for Columbus+400 years made claims full of hot air. That was probably the heat and humidity you were experiencing. ;)

I tried those hormone ribs at the Miller's pub, because you must try everything once I guess
My mom threw up there once about 40 years ago.

(Actually, a true story. Guess she also had to try it at least once, and, not surprisingly, she hasn't been back ever since.)

I went to Andy's jazz club in the North side and enjoyed a relaxing night there, studying the diversity of the local fauna. Stiff upper lip yuppies complaining about the table.
Great description. But the first sentence was part of the problem. As a native South Sider, we lampoon the type regularly. Of course we're known more for black crack addicts, but...

To bad you missed Sergio and Montreal...two must see's of North AMerica :D
I think you are refering to Mcgill University...I have heard good things...but the weather is nasty.

I can't believe he is that PATHETIC to do that...to come back as another poster...MAN.
Anyways, despite the issues in the past I think Zlatan deserves a hand for his MOD duties thus far..he surpassed all my expectations and walked the walk. Mods have avoided being harsh and double accounts and handing out punishment. You may never hear this again but "GOOD JOB ZLATAN"

No no no Greg, it has nothing to do with a mutliple personality disorder. The purpose of our dual accounts is just mere fun and games, nothing else. Unfortunately there is not much to do in Southern PA and the panhandle of West Virginia. :lazy:

Got it. My younger brother and his friends used to jump out of moving cars when they were looking for something to do. Same thing. ;)
