Sorry for my ramblings but the following led me to the questions i ask ::
I am presently visiting a hell on earth that goes by the name of 'New South Wales' for a family wedding
The other day we were somewhat bored and so decided to go off to the local park and have a kick about.
So the 11 of us set off down the path looking for some suitable people to embarass.
As we ventured off the park we saw our victims, all trussed up in the sickly sweet gleaming white outfits, acting all professional and thinking they were gods gift to the game.
So there we were looking shambolic against their lovely team outfits in our rag tag selection of 11 different club jerseys approaching them for a bit of a knock about.
With a bit of encouragement they set about discussing the game and finally with a certain hint of arrogance and delight in telling us how they were in their local 1st division (impressive ehh

) they agreed to the proposed match.
We then had to wait for another 20 mins for there 11th man to turn up.... here is where my first point comes in!
For the first time i had a hint of liking for these people as he strolled across with his white top over his arm and to my surprise wearing a prestine juve top..... I liked this guy, or did I ?
As he drew closer I realised this supposed juve fan was wearing a very obviously fake jersey.
He came over to me happily stating he was a juve fan too.....
After politely saying hi and a little normal drivel I knew the first serious tackle i put in today would be on this guy.
So 1st question::
How the hell can someone call themselves a fan of a team yet happily rip off the club they supposedly love by buying fake shirts above the genuine article?? Do they not see the damage they do??
Anyway we started our match and i thoroughly enjoyed the slaughtering we gave them... and to be fair was most impressed with how gracious they were in defeat..... overall a decent bunch of guys.
Afterwards as one does we sat about having a good drink up in the park and i had a long conversation with this supposed juve fan.
So i asked how many times he had been to the delle alpi .... None
Ok so how many times have you seen them live ..... None
So i thought, well fair enough we are in australia after all, maybe he watches them regularly on tv..... No not really i only get to see a couple of games a year and the odd highlights
The guy in question actually gave me a perfectly reasonable answer to the following questions , but what are your viewpoints??
So that leads me too my final questions ::
Not including those outside of europe , Bearing in mind how cheap it is to travel around europe these days how can you call yourselves fans if you have never been bothered to get up and go see your club, and especially with the number of euro games away from home now days , giving most games that arent too far away ??
It also amazes me that some juve fans in east coast america are not going to juves matches in the states this year..... a better chance you will never have, yet for some fans its too much effort... why??
So why / how are you fans if you havent seen them play at the stadium??
Ahh..... I thought
The TV... Surely the TV
So now looking around various forums i find fans that not only have never been to the stadium to see there team but also virtually never even see them play on tv or indeed have never seen them play.
So my question :
Why / How can you be a fan of a team that you only see a couple of games a year of (and please dont mention highlights - they're not the same).
Seeing so few games you cant really know what your team are about or how they really play... so how / Why ????
Thats it!!
Please dont take offence by this, it is simply a question that i was wondering about.
Personally i could never consider myself a fan of a club that ... A) I hadnt seen live
And / or
B) See at least 80% of their games on tV
So in short .... HOW / WHY ???
Cheers
Anyway its now gone 6 in the morning and i need a nap... i look forward to your answers
