Assuming you are taking england as a choker as you imply... How do you reach the lack of media care statement...

Bear in mind that england games feature in virtually all of the most watched (worldwide audience) of international football matches... (look it up)

The worldwide column inches spent on england... Which supasses pretty much everyone else

Lack of media care... my arse

Also your statement implies italy etc get far more media attention yet the likes of the 94 final is the biggest audience failure in televised world cup history
This answer your question Paul ?

    :D

I'm not in the least bit offended, BTW.

Put it down to my misunderstanding your question, then.

    Forza Juve :)
    Lou,

Don't get intimated by Paul who despite the bark and bite is actually a very logical and reasonable guy..he just becomes biatchy with senstive subjects like England and the Juve Curva..or lack of it :cheesy:

Interesting.... Firstly... campbell would never play another game for england under me... Woodgate when fit however would be straight in... In my view when on top of his game, our best cb...

Carrick is good but i would pick scotty parker... gives more options....

Rooney is not a loan striker, he needs to play off of someone else...

I agree it would be great if we could get stevie and lamps to play togeather (maybe another coach can) but i (as most others do) have major doubts....

As for leaving out becks... I know you dont like him and he has flaws... But i would not drop him... Even when playing badly, his workrate, his passion, his range of passing, his set plays , his direct freekicks are invaluable... If you look at all englands goals over the last years since he has been in the team... well over half of them come in one way or another from our captain... He is a def starter in my book....

Personally i would if we must change formation change to 3 at the back (terry, rio, woody/carragher) , this would then solve our left problem with ashley cole and allow phillips to play... also it would bring rooney into his best position and if they can find a way to play togeather allow stevie and lamps to play (or one of them plus scotty parker) ....
Woodgate? I favored him as well over Sol Campbell before he moved on to Madrid, and after this year-long injury I doubt he will ever be the same again.

Scott Parker would provide more grit and ball winning skills in midfield, however I prefer a player like Carrick who is better with the ball and a good passer. Gerrard adds bite in midfield as well, and with that world class back four you should be pretty sound defensively. The formation looks very solid straight through the middle, and with Ferdinand at RB you have an automatic upgrade to good old Gary.

As for Beckham being included, I'm not so sure. Yes, he gives you the freekick element that could decide a few games, however I would rather let SWP play and completely dominate both flanks with speed and precision. Freekicks are indeed important however you have JoeCole and Gerrard who can take them rather well. Beckham just does not have much going for him when I look at the alternative SWP.

After watching Rooney in Portugal I believe he could take the front role and excel at it. With the strong presence on both wings and Lampard behind him, there is a lot of room for movement and the interchange of positions. Rooney has all the skill he needs to play up top, and I remember him causing France a lot of problems by challenging them on the brink of offsides. Or you could put Owen up top but there goes the whole system cuz you need to fit Rooney in the team.

This Pre-Game, Pre-Season kickoff on ABC is a complete fvcking joke...why can't we ever just wait for the football game instead of having to endur shitty performances by Rolling Stones and Ozzy of all people. We also do not need to give praise to the Patriots again...they have had enough of it the past three years FFS. Seriously, all these Pre-game parties are fvcking dumb and a waste of time...that is what you call tourist shit.

Thank God we don't have to take this shit before soccer matches.

I really dont see a big difference in england / italy's results in the last 15 years... pretty similar to me... neither very good...

Last 15 years in world cup :

    England Italy

England - italy played off for 3rd place... italy edging an anyone could of won match
Fine...even though Italy won and there began England's demise into mediocrity. I would also like to point out that Italy had the likes of Baresi, Maldini and Baggio all of whom would prominent on the European stage and/or top honours. (Demonstration of difference in calibre)

ENgland Didnt qualify... Italy lost in final
    Enough said.

    ++ [ originally posted by Shadowfax ] ++
England lost in last 16... Italy lost in quarter
Lost to the Champions...and lost in PK.

    ++ [ originally posted by Shadowfax ] ++
Factor in the teams we lost too and where they finnished and the difference is very little indeed
Sorry but thats a load of horsesh*t..England has not proven to be a serious contender for God knows how long and they have not proven to be anything more than a team of spoiled over-hyped prima donna's...
kind of like Italy of the last four years.

Nick, I wouldn't have thought you would touch anything that has to do with "Rap." I'm impressed.

However, it sounds like I will be even more impressed once I pick up the new album tomorrow after classes. Can't friggin wait.

Hello Jackass :D, that, btw, was for that Barry Mannilow comment. I think Barry and Andy should get together at the Olive Garden for Andy's favorite dish - casa al forno.

Nick, your knack for picking out one piece of a post to "prove" your point and disregard the rest is laughable... anyway its a pointless discussion as you clearly wont give an inch however unreasonable....
