Did you now? What type of job? I'm trying to get my old job back but the department manager (there's two) who likes me best is on holiday, comes back on friday, so I figured I should wait and then suck up to her - better chances :D

Anybody want my job? I sit on a golf course all day in scorching heat waiting for the carts to come in and hoping for a few tips only to not get much. But it's sure as hell easy and boring. Erik? :D

Oh, and there has been a plane crash in Toronto. They are saying it's an Air France 767 or 777. :frown:

Bah :D

No mate, being a tour guide is the easiest thing in the world. Plus, you get to be evil if you play your cards right. Who wouldn't like that?

Oh really? Is this on the BBC?

You're a tour guide? That's pretty cool. You must be good with people then. ;)

Not sure, however it's an Airbus 340 or something. Looks pretty bad.

I am actually. But mostly I got the job because of my language skills. They even gave me a little booklet after the job interview: "How to be polite and kind" or summat. Course I threw it away :D

A Toronto station is reporting there are survivors. The flames looked like they engulfed the whole body of the plane. They are saying the probable cause of the crash on during landing was due to severe thunderstorms in the area.

Dutch media report weather circumstances could have played a role... That's just wrong, it's the 21st century ffs
I guess there was a microburst before or just after the aircraft landed, and that means they would have had to deal with driving rain and winds over 40 mph. These microbursts can pop up almost anywhere during a thunderstorm, and at such a big airport one place could be just fine and another could be impassible.

Well, it is a tough job but it is good paid and temporary. I work 5 hours per day from 4 until 9 in the afternoon in the post office terminal. There are two activities, one is to receive packages from a conveyer belt and fill them in a truck (think tetris) and the other activity is the opposite.

That's not what I'm getting. A witness said it looked like a normal landing until the plane started to get really close to the end of the runway. The plane went off behind the end of the runway and plunged into a little valley which made the aircraft split in two parts. The front half of the plane burst into flames, and watching the live coverage there has been several mini explosions.

Yes, I've seen the fireballs on CNN. However, on another forum I'm reading that there were between 240 and 290 people on the plane and that a lot of them survived, that 2 busses of people were taken off the plane and that the pilot and co pilot are alive.
