1. Based on my stats Inzaghi was not a top scorer at 21 and 22 years old.
2. Based on my recollection, Inzaghi was never on the auction block at 22
years old.
3. Based on my recollection Italy has not seen a goalscorer so young and promising as Gilardino.
4. Jealousy is biatch.

Can't wait to see Stam and Maldini? Tell you what..can't to see Juve once Cannavaro is injured and Zebina needs to lead the defence.
Maldini at 37 has played more games than any other defender in Serie A last season and still managed to get a consistent top ranking.

The Milan market is a mess?
4 years ago we purchased Pirlo
3 years ago we purchased Nesta
2 years ago we purchased Cafu
This year Gilardino .... well, based on your definition of a "MESS" I hope the room at San Siro continues to be cluttered. :cheesy:

(From the significant OTHER soccer board)
1. He was Serie A top scorer at age of 23 playing for a small team like Atalanta...

2. During his first year with Juve he manage to produce alongside DP the best attacking partnership in the last 40 year....

3. Wether ya like him or not, but he proves to be a scoring machine wherever he plays Parma, Atalanta, Juve, Milan...

I think Gilardino still needs to achieve more to be considered as the NEXT Inzaghi...

Get your arguments straight. You stated that Milan paid 18 million for another Inzaghi. I should you WHY Gilardino is NOT another Inzaghi. Why are you bringing Sheva into the argument?
Del Piero sucked in every single major tournament when you consider his stature as a world class player...still does not mean he didn't produce for Juve. More over, Gila has been on the NT for less than a year and in 6 appearances had 2 goals. I wouldn't throw him out just yet :dontcare:
okay, I have to :D Sheva's ego might not fair well with Gila,i think only one of them will be starting and the other would have a bad season, Del Piero is world class when he feels like it the spoiled baby, i think i saw all those games he sucked in all of them, he got two clunky goals in 6 games hardly impressive, i am not throwing him out, I just haven’t been impressed by him.

Have you seen Thuram without Cannavaro? Think back to the 2003 season if you need some reminding.
Maldini was average last season? He was one of the most capped players and until 3 weeks to the end was battling for the Scudetto and CL unlike any other team. His team also had not let in a goal in the CL from the Barca qualifying round up to the second PSV match...not bad for average.
yes where Thruam was at RB he sucked but i am sure he can survive a few games without good old Canna, He was playing at LB, he was good untill the last weeks of the season where he played his stinkers

Seedorf had a slump for about 4-5 games...if you are ready to throw away a player because of a few bad games then Del Piero would have been gone years ago.
Irrelevant, I was responding to how you stated the Milan Market is a mess...Pirlo, Nesta, Cafu and Gilardino...

a mess you say?
Seedorf like Del Piero only plays well when he feels like it, those types of players don’t deserve to be playing at big clubs, I was only talking about this season if that wasn’t clear, yes a mess if you don’t buy a new classy CB :D

Shev ‘clashes’ with Ancelotti

It’s not all smiles at Milan following the arrival of Alberto Gilardino, after reports of a training ground disagreement between boss Carlo Ancelotti and Andriy Shevchenko.

I was right and the fun begins :D

Thanks Greg. By the way, did you notice the bottles of wine lined up behind Gilardino and Galliani in the picture posted by Azzuri7? Bottles and Bottles of GAJA
Looks like the taste buds at Milanello are quite high
Gaja?! You're right, Nick. Damn, that is some of the highest end stuff you can buy in Italy.

But then Gaja comes from the Piedmonte region of course -- even the Milanese have the sense to look towards Torino when it comes to quality. :)

I know this is an italian based hangout, but all this talk of cafones and more by wanna be Italians is really starting to get under my skin.

And I just have to ask, who's Menace?

Furthermore this Nick/Bobo fetish is going to reach a disturbing level now isnt it?
