Well, it looks like Milan has Gilardino now.

Isn't that just freakin' lovely.

Let's see.

Sheva
Gila
Bobo
Tomasson
Pippo

I must be forgetting someone.

Bobo, Tomasson and Pippo on the bench. That is scary.
Add Jankulovski to the midfield as well.

Damn.

pish-posh, Sergio. If Milan has indeed signed yet another "Galactico" just remember that only eleven can play at a time. Anyway, the big news today is not about Gilardino (in fact that is still only a rumour, I believe), the big news is about Torino and Messina possibly being expelled from Serie A.

Torino I know, but why Messina?

pish-posh my ass, Robert.

While only 11 can play at one time, having such a talented group of forwards at your disposal can do nothing but help a team like Milan that is always contending for the Scudetto, and as always, are going very deep in the CL.

Could you imagine a fresh Vieri and Tomasson starting for Milan in the early rounds of the CL, thereby giving Sheva and Gila some much needed rest?
You can't compare Milan's situation to Real's Galacticos. The big difference is that Milan acquires players that can fit their particular system, while Real just goes on a spending spree to grab any big name that is available, regardless of whether or not they can actually play together.

Yes, I did hear about that. I wonder how that could be with either one of those squads. From the matches I had seen, their attendance figures were very strong, and in Messina's case, didn't they just build a brand new staduim??

I agree. Besides, Real only buys the Galacticos when they're three seconds away from becoming washed-ups. Zidane... Figo... How many GOOD matches did they play in the Spanish capital compared to what they could once do?

Milan, on the other hand, doesn't suffer that problem.

I know full well that you cannot compare Milan to Real Madrid. I DID NOT MAKE THAT COMPARISON. By calling Gilardino a "Galactico" means that he is a "Superstar" not that he is a Madrid-style wash up. You jump to too many conclusions because you are sooooo conditioned by the media (i.e. Galactico = Real Madrid) :groan:

Anyway, while it is great to be able to rotate a fresh squad, one must not forget about the disruptions in the changing room. I have never known Vieri to accept the bench without destroying team morale. And, if you think team morale is not that important, one need only to look as far as the last campaign for AS Roma.

Stop being such a grumpy prick :D

It all starts with consistency and character at the top of the food chain, and Milan's is so far superior to Roma's there isn't even a proper adjective to describe the disparity between the two.

How long do you think Vieri would be able to get away with attempting to be a cancer in the clubhouse before Ancelotti, Galliani, or even Berlusconi would put his foot down and put an end to it?

Not very long, I'm pretty sure of that.

Who cares. This situation isn't anything new, Milan having a more powerful squad is pretty much "normalcy" nowadays. And in reality their new strikeforce will not be any more powerful than last season.

Tomasson on his way out. Pippo probably will be on-loan, I don't think he'll like the Idea of warming up his ass on the bench. But as you Said thats lovely, having Bobo,Gila,Sheva, Pretty awesome If you ask me.
