It's mindblowingly strange as well. Wouldn't it make you more of a fan when you can speak about your team's weaknesses? Doesn't that mean you actually KNOW them? There is a difference in saying "Juventus are shit" and "Juventus are playing like shit" you know.
There is a big difference actually.

But I suppose there are a few who like to live in their little Juventus dreamland where Moggi will exchange Zambrotta for Robben plus cash and we'll have the best team in the world......again.

It would be easier to compare if you made it a ratio. Of course the track is so long that it can support so many fans in one place, but break that down to a football field, and I bet that there are just as many people at a lot(spelled correctly) of sporting events, Facsimile.
Thats not really relevant...

Anyway if you look at alp d'huez as an example....

The alp has 8.5 km of twisting road that is accessible to the public...
If you laid that 8.5 km of road in a city centre... it would cover a tiny section of most major cities....
Even if you had a stadium big emough.. no football match would atract the 1.2 milion people that were on the alp in 2001 (on the alp alone, not along the whole stage)

This years milan - turin

In milan... in an area about the same size as the land the san siro sits on there were 200000 people, that night for a milan match there was 53000 in the stadium

In turin ... an area about the same size as the delle alpi atracted 150 000 people... the next match at delle alpi was seen by 30000

It might not be a big sport in america... but france, italy and spain there is little bigger... You also forget the tv audiences throughout the entire season are simply huge.

Burke, as an American and fan of Lance Armstrong, I'm ashamed of you. Obviously millions of people enjoy cycling buddy.
How is it that lance manages to get into these conversations... whether hes relevant or not... (not in this case)

When Burke called you "Lance," I assume he was just joking around. That's just his style I suppose. A few weeks ago he was drinking with our former coach and his buddies, one of which was a man in his 40's who wears glasses. The 40 year-old was talking about something, and Burke out of the blue said "take it easy glasses." The guy replied "I don't like you" and the whole night turned sour.

That's Burke's sense of humor at least.

    Firstly, its quite obvious you are referring to me when making examples of supposed 'posters'. I wish you would be a man about it. More to the point, whats with the 'if you want me out' just say it. This is a forum you come and go as you please. If you listen to authority here what kind of a pushover are you?? There is no authority besides getting banned. In which case you can re-register. Please save that sh*t for the Principal during lectures. Its also odd how you refer to events that 'tickled' FORMER posters who are no longer here the wrong way. events which occured when you were not part of the forum. Makes one wonder about what your really doing here.

    ++ [ originally posted by jaecole ] ++

    Well about this latest 'problem' on Juventuz about certain fans.

    Everyone, or rather the select few who think they are above have troubles with members who don't cut it for them.

    First of all in a real world basis, this is everywhere. This is the MAJORITY of football fans. You support Juventus. A team whos fanbase is made up of worldwide fans exactly like those you slam on this forum. Who set the stnadard? Are they all trying out to be an exclusive 'ultra' like Nick? No, they probably couldn't care. But ask Juventus what they care about more, the people who worship and study the squad or the millions of fans who buy the products.
    Everyone needs mindless, thinkless people who do what they will say...nations need it, politicians need it and business need it to make you buy products you don't need. How much do teams appreciate the ultra fans?
    Week after week the CURVA is filled with the local and national contigency of clubs that get tickets at face value from the club no matter how sold out or how big a game. The CURVA is 'RULED' by the leaders of the various factions who have been around for ages...they are so 'hooked up' with the team that they have monthly meetings with management.
    At the end of the day a glory hunter will buy a jersey...once the team loses they will go on and buy the next 'hot' team's jersey. When the team is mediocre....WHO will keep the fan base burning and keep buying products of a mediocre team? The glory hunter...think again.
    Everyone tries to make a dollar....to say a team gives a sh*t more about one set of fans over the other....
    sell it the tourists.

    ++ [ originally posted by jaecole ] ++
    Without these fans, you have no Juventus as you know it. I realise this and I'm a Pool fan. It's obviously ten times worse with Juve. .
    These are the fans that kept MILAN alive when they were riddled with debt and in Serie B....the CURVA was still one of most illustrious ones in Italy despite the teams total failures.
    No team would exist solely on its hard core fans....whats your point? That they have the right to make statements based on absolute fabrication or based on their one-two year knowledge of the team history?

    ++ [ originally posted by jaecole ] ++
    Is this even a big deal? No. Who cares what someone knows about a football team. You watch football for your own reason, do what the heck you want and have whatever opinion of whatever player you want. These people have as much right as you do to post here. This is a public forum not an exclusive club. Who the hell are you to tell them what they should be? Maybe they aren't that smart, big fvcking deal. You think you calling them 'imbeciles', 'idiots' and whatever else because they don't match up to your expectations of a REAL football fan helps? A real football fan is exactly that. You are the minority afterall.
    Again..your making it the big deal in talking about it thread after thread and trying to do something OTHER than stand up for them.
    yes, when they feel the need to respond to my post with utter stupidity based on ZERO EVIDENCE I will answer...if it bothers you don't read it. It has been happening WAY before I arrived. It happens in every football forum. Its because we DON'T want Italians teams to become MANCHESTER UNITED....the GO TO team when your knowledge of soccer is based on PEOPLE MAGAZINE.
    More over, ending every post with "STUPID MILANISTA" will garner a response ... ending every post with MILAN SUCKS SH*T will garner a response. Comparing apples and oranges when they don't even know what a fruit is will garner a response.
    What business is it of yours whether posters do it? Your saying everyone has the right to post but then QUESTION my posts..
    great fuvckin reasoning.

    ++ [ originally posted by jaecole ] ++
    If the owner wants these people out of this forum he will ban them. You don't pay any fees, you didn't build this site, so I find it slighty annoying that certain members go around bullying others..
    Classic example: WHO IS YOU.....be a man and address the post to me.
    I don't give a sh*T if I don't pay fees...I come here to talk FOOTBALL with the rivalry to garner some good debate...not to lecture kids....often times the kids get in the way. No one will get bullied if they KNOW THEIR LIMITS AND POTENTIAL.

    ++ [ originally posted by jaecole ] ++
    A kid supports his club the same way you do, he comes on here and find something he likes. You slam him and label him as trash. Real fvcking nice attitude...
    You have it the other way around.....I post an opinion on the game and in response rather than get "no they actually played like this..." I get "MILAN SUCKS ANYWAYS"
    TELL ME WHY MILAN SUCKS ..even that I would take....regardless this has been going on for ages here..you are not the first one to bring up this great revelation you had...
    and it will go on....

    ++ [ originally posted by jaecole ] ++
    Secondly and most importantly to this forum. They want as Nick would have it, a forum of "Dencos, Shadowfaxs and Andys".

    Do you really think the Incubos and Shadowfaxs of forums would be here if they were just another member? They can pretend they don't like how it is but indeed they do. This little thread of Nicks seems to be everything to him. He's here for the action, to try and be controversial. A Milan fan on a Juve board, take no shit kinda guy that knows more than you do. It's the same wherever you go online, you will find this.

    Of course they don't want a forum full of people who can match them. And although there is a friendship here with the americans, i'm sure others, just as intelligent have gone by the way because they collided with the BIG GUNS.

    Nick if you disagree, a mod close this thread. If he disagrees it isnt important and he can make another one right? I bet that is unthinkable.

    This isn't inclusive. Just using these names as examples of these kind of people. Could not be true in this case.

    Well I dunno :undecide:
    Actually this thread was began for a purpose different than this one..and it was RE-NAMED the title it bears today by a MOD. There goes your theory....on the topic: is there a reason that most respected posters here stuck up for me since day one? Is there a reason the post knowledged fans are the ones I get along with?
    Is there a reason that the most insightful and creative fans are the ones I speak to the most?
    Get the idea....

    Sure, but Sheva surley also had a hand in other goals, and the best evidence why Sheva is better than Zlatan...........

    Ibrahimovic's goals in CL..................0 (that means zero!)

    Sheva.................(6 goals in 8 matches)

    nuff said

    P.S.: Sheva is a legend and untouchable. If you think about the times when he played at Kiev and brought that small unmeaning club to the semis nearly on his own, I think he is as big as Maradonna . The only reason why Sheva will not be reminded like Diego is that he will never reach a World Cup or a European Championship with Ukraine. Very sad!

    No I wasn't referring to you specifically. I've saw others do it alot more and incase you missed it my post was general to all forums. Forums are all the same. Show me any forum and i'll show you examples. Sorry to spoil it for you but most of this isn't about you at all, I've hardly even read your posts. Be a man about it? Don't think for a second I wouldn't say whatever I want to anyone on here.
    And no I dont follow such 'if you want me out just say it' generally, though I would be willing to on this ocassion to make a point.

Everyone tries to make a dollar....to say a team gives a sh*t more about one set of fans over the other....
    sell it the tourists.
    Missed again. I never mentioned the word glory hunters. That was Andy. What's with that anyway? I see these so called glory hunters have register dates of way back, why are they still here? Will they be here next year even if Juve win nothing for years? Probably. Or are they glory hunters because they choose the team to support? Maybe so, but then Andy is a glory hunter, Burke is a glory hunter. They choose Juve. What's the difference?

    Also I wasn't comparing 'glory hunters' to ultras. I was comparing the millions of fans worldwide that make up 90% of Juve's fanbase to the few thousand sitting in the curva waving a flag.

    ....whats your point? That they have the right to make statements based on absolute fabrication or based on their one-two year knowledge of the team history?
    Yeah exactly my point. I think anyone has a right to make whatever statement they want without someone putting him down for it. It's quite a simple concept to get your head around.

    A big deal? Where am I doing that? All I've did is ask people to cut people a break now and then. This is an internet forum and I think the level insults usually quite personal isn't necessary. Again why are you even talking about Milan now and English teams? I'm talking in general terms about every football team, about every internet forum.

    I guess you decided yourself it was you. You is the reader. It's a post you read and if you think it relates to you then it does.

    I'm ending this here. Somehow, quite unbelievably, you missed every single point made in that post. Maybe you should read it again.

    No I don't get the idea. The second part of my post was about some people, you make a classic example in this case which is why 'i was a man about it' and named you, take... Fvck that. Read what I wrote. I think you got it but AGAIN your reply isn't even related. I don't want to repeat myself.

    Naming of this thread. Irrelevent. Creation of this thread. Irrelevent. Your like of this thread and the IncuboRossonero 'brand' here. That's what I'm talking about.

    Though you did pose one interesting point:
    No one will get bullied if they KNOW THEIR LIMITS AND POTENTIAL.
    Is that so? No it isn't.

    What the hell are we doing here? This is pointless. I didn't intend to discuss, just rant. Waste of all our time and I really don't care much for this kinda crap. Let's do something else.

    Shadowfax, apologies.

    No. Baout the Austrian one. Heidi Maradonna!

    Seriously, I wanted to say, that he could became as big as Maradonna. On a club level for sure, but he plays in a very bad National Team, thats why he will never win a trophy with them.

    This part is spot on. Kaiser Franco was a member like the biggies and he left because of clashes i think with paul and nick, im not sure. Where is he people?

    Nick also took a hate against Claire because she busted on him alot. Probably got her banned in the end.

    Nick also does totally care about this. For proof check out the 'Official application for moderator thread' that was pretty lame :D

    But heck its still good fun :cheesy:

    Right Burke.

    Just don't see the point you have on this forum if all you ever do is post crap you don't even mean to try to bring a reaction. You need to stop seeking attention and actually try some discussion for once. Your a nice guy, but unlike Andy, you don't seem to have anything except racist rantings. Since I've been here you have been funny on occassions, but mostly you've just been an idiot and posted the same shit over and over. If it wasn't for you friends here you would be another Gino.

    But since you seem so obcessed with my sex life, that girl is a girl I've been chasing for months, I didn't even sleep with her last night and haven't yet. Some people spend energy on that, you know important things, some spend it on forums trying to annoy people or in their friends basement drinking cheap alcohol.

    I fail to see the relevence any of this has. Oh yeah, it's just another predictable 'insult' aimed for a reaction.

    Well you won't get it here 'douche'. Hope you had fun anyway.

    And Burke is not a Juve supporter.

    no one is talking about this season. if juve gets to serie b in lets say 10 years, 95% of fans would be gone. and they're not to blame. if you dont get any coverage of your team you naturally lose your interest.

    i can see your excitement after hearing "juve defeated padova but lost to pescara" week and week out. :D

    and everyone is a bit of glory hunter, after all we chose to support juventus, not messina or cagliari.
