Never a fan of the radio show but the tv series was brilliant... Though it may not suit non-british people due to its brand of humour.... The lack of which my only real complaint about the film

I heard from several Brits that the best humour was in the radio show, but afterall it is a matter of taste I guess.

Weird that coming from a Brittish director what you say about the movie, isn't the director the same that used to direct The Ali G Show?

The humour wasnt the issue in the radio show... It jus wasnt imo a very good production allround

The nationality of the director doesnt make a difference...
Virtually everytime in this day of money above all else... British comedies are dumbed down so they will be accepted by a wider audience... Normally resulting in a shite film... Doesnt matter who makes them, the money men wont allow a film that will only be well received in the uk... not worldwide

That was an exciting match today. Even though Pavel was having a horrible match he was able to work a piece of magic to give us a victory. That took a lot of skill, how he scored that goal.

Cleveland?

Possible, but not at the #3 slot. Rodgers may have been the 2nd best QB available in this draft, but that doesn't mean that he's an automatic Top 5 selection. If Rodgers had been selected first overall, Smith wouldn't have gotten past Miami at #2. That's how much of a difference there was between the two QB's.

I don't get to see college ball over here, but I've read that Smith might not even take Tim Rattay's place, and I've also read that he would have been drafted after Big Ben, Rivers and Manning had he been in last years draft. If all that's true I think the 49ers should have gotten someone else, like Pacman or Braylon.

Smith will end up being the starter by week 2. They wouldn't have spent 35 million on Jonas Jennings in the free agency market and then use a 2nd and 3rd round selection on Offensive Lineman if they weren't looking to protect their investment.

As far as being selected after Roethlisberger, Rivers, and Manning are concerned, while that may be true consider these 3 factors.

#1)- obviously, this is a different year.

#2) - Alex Smith is only 20 years old, or in other words, a full 2 years younger than any of those 3 that were drafted last year.

#3) Smith graduated from college in just over 2 years, and has been graded as the most intelligent QB to come out in the last 30 years. Alex was responsible for running a very complicated spread offense scheme at the University of Utah, where he was responsible for any audibles that needed to be called at the line of scrimmage. His 21-1 record as a starter at Utah, including a thorough beating of Pitt this year in the Fiesta Bowl proved to a lot of people that this kid is the real deal.

That being said, I do think that Edwards was possibly the best player in the draft, but no WR is worth a 50 million dollar contract with a 20 million dollar signing bonus as a rookie, and San Francisco needed to have a new identity to the squad for this new regime, and you don't normally have a Wide Receiver as the new face of your franchise.

What was exciting about it andy...
I jus saw two teams playing awful football (for the most part anyway) and kicking the crap out of each other with neither ever looking like scoring... with an awful ref who didnt have the bottle to pull out the red card or point at the spot.

As a game with a massive world wide audience, personally i thought it was an embarassment to serie a.

Yeah, it was well taken ... shame about the rest of his play though

Well, personally I thought it was exciting, especially with the atmosphere in Rome. Perhaps it was the fact that we needed to win to draw level with Milan, I don't know. I just know that I was entertained, more than on Wednesday at least.

Embarrasment to Serie A? Well, Lazio is far from a great team and we were missing a couple top players. I guess from a neutral sense people might not have been that impressed.

I wish I could see what Andy saw myself, as I will definitely side with Paul on this one. The game was painful to watch, looked incredibly painful on the pitch with all the fouls, and I think it's only short of a miracle that there was any score at all in the match -- given the lack of awarded penalty kicks.

Well it was an entertaining match to me. Just my opinion I guess.

I mean sure, it wasn't full of quality or constant attacking forays, however that doesn't mean it was a boring match IMO.

:groan: You guys are going to make us work for this...

I agree with Paul. There was absolutely no control or rhytm to this match...looked like a pick-up game in any urban soccer field in Rome.
