Going back to the story for a minute, I should probably add that when I was growing up, soccer wasnt that big here in the US, and it still has a ways to go today.

My family was mostly into baseball, football (American), and boxing.

My grandparents all came here around 1915-1920, which was the early days of Serie A, when there was little media, and soccer was just starting to spread throughout Italy

Vinman, I am so sick of hearing that shit about the Kappa logo. Too bad you mentioned the "Foot Locker" comments, I was going to tell Andy to put on his bianconero and go to Foot Locker and see how many people asked for assistance. :D

Interesting story Sergio. Pretty cool having a family backround in supporting Juventus.
That was why I asked, I wanted to see how much the families influenced them :)

I THINK he meant he was wearing a Juve jersey BUT the high school kids who never heard of Juve or Serie A assumed it was a referee's shirt...
Just a hunch..
That didn't even cross my mind. I may seem ignorant, but that's simply impossible in Europe .

If you're talking about wearing a referee's shirt, I think you'd be getting a lot of stares in Europe as well.
Yeah that's what I'm wearing. I got a vintage yellow Collina referee shirt that I wear around to classes.

Yeah the ref's Jersey is a pain in the arse..however, given my dislike for Juve I often joined in the circus : « yeah why are you wearing a ref’s jersey….and since when do refs have their names behind their jerseys!” :D
I can remember getting up at 4 am to watch Milan play for the Intercontinental cup in the early 90’s and going to Sons of Italy to watch the game in a cigarette-smoke filled room and then going to school and smelling like a cheap hustler :cheesy:

And since when do referees wear sponsors such as Sky on their shirt? I guess Moggi has had to cut back on kickbacks to the refs.

Don't worry, you should have no recollection. He's a fun-loving criminal from Utica, NY. He's a good guy but I was certain every officer in upstate New York arrested the guy at least once :D

Yeah the blue is a great jersey, however you gotta love the Bianconeri.

Problem is I wear a lot blue, especially with my Azzurri training top. Fvcking thing costed a fortune.

Great idea! Referees should be tested for doping. Many of them make dopey decisions. WTF???? Brescia-Atalanta. Robbery.

Im pretty sure a couple of you live within short time of toronto.

Anyway... May seem a bit of a strange thing to go see at a cinema, but "Heysel '85, Requiem for a Cup Final " is being shown at the Isabel Bader Theatre as part of the hotdocs film festival on may 1st at 21.30.

Well worth the effort if you are available... One of the few docs that is sensitive but also gets the point across and actually adds something new.

If you get the chance go see it!

Guys, I just read a report from Controcampo that Moratti is trying to get Moggi to come direct proceedings at Inter. Moratti will bring in Moggi and replace Mancini with Guidolin of Palermo. They speculate if Moggi does leave Juve Fabio Capello will take the role of allenatore-manager and conduct the transfer market for the club. Moreover it says that the first casualty of the switchover would be Del Piero.

Isn't Controcampo Berlusconi's media company? This sounds like nonsense to me and strangly it's coming out right before the Inter clash Wednesday. Surprise.
