Nick, I do speak to Sergio, probably 2-3 times per month. So, our conversations are fewer as Serge gets thinner.

Driving While Impaired? Not that many. I would say that I have an average of 35 cases per week and 4 are DWI. I handle more felony cases now than DWI's, but I do have a crap load of Driving While License Revoked cases. I sometimes wonder if anybody has a valid drivers license anymore.

This week I tried an Assault with Deadly Wepon Inflicting Serious Injury and Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury. It only took the jury 1 hour and 40 minutes to return a verdict of NOT GUILTY. Which, by the way, was the right decision.

I'm impressed you actually know JOE AVATI...is he a "big shot" in Australia
Not at all, at least not in Sydney. I haven't been in Melbourne for very long, so I don't know his status there. I just happen to know him somehow.

I thought Aussies were supposed to be humble like Mel Gibson or Nicole Kidman? ;)
Yeah, let's all take examples of people based on one person...a B-grade celebrity at that :groan:

 If you wanted a good example of an Aussie who's neither humble or not a complete prick, you could've gone for Russell Crowe a long time ago :D

Last night I attended an MLS match - the USA's version of the beautiful game. Los Angeles v. Kansas City. It was not very beautiful. Los Angeles won 1-0 in a pre-season friendly. The quality of the football was not great. However, the pitch was damn near perfect. I guess that speaks to the quality of the football when the most impressive thing was the grass :D

Yeah, the grass usually is the best thing at an MLS match, but at least they've managed to keep the league going despite having very little interest from the public at large.

I think the public is interested, but the media will not get behind this league to bring it into the mainstream. As far as I know, the attendance at the games is not too bad.

I would expect the media in MLS cities to cover their local clubs, but that does not happen. The Columbus team has a great stadium and the matches are very well attended. But, back when ESPN had the television contract for the MLS, I saw an ESPN commentator (talking about Ohio State University football) state that Columbus now had a professional sports team, the NHL's Blue Jackets. This bozo works for ESPN and did not even know the soccer team had been around for at least six years before the hockey team.

Robert: Dunkin Donuts is for cops and teamsters dude..come on..don't tell me your a "munchkin" guy as well...I always hated those annoying guys who brought munchkins to the office rather than donuts..you have to eat 3 just to get a "taste" and then it looks like your hogging the box!
I'M VERY surprised your not an espresso guy..I have about 5 a day...which explains my personality..in a way.

As per Sergio: Big Guy just read our posts and not respond...come on the 4 CAVALIERI (Sergio, Vinman, Padovano and Incubo) is breaking apart.
Put that 70 ounce steak down and eat some homemade Gnocchi. ;)
Nick,

I dont know what police dept you are used to seeing in the USA, but things have changed, at least with the majority of my department.

Donuts are something of the past. I dont even drink coffee

The majority of the young guys I work with drink protein shakes, eat healthy food, and even take little andro to intensify their workouts (not me though...I'm afraid my balls will shrink !!!)

reasonable. and coming from you so not very surprising.
You just took everything I said way out of context. I dont believe in just beating people, but something has to be done when some fanatical fans go onto the pitch. Its our responsibility to protect the players, and you have no idea what the fan is going to do, or what weapons they may have. Just look at what happened to Monica Seles a few years back......

you are right to some extent, but i think different measures are needed sometimes.
about those fans on the pitch you were right, as i said, i didnt see the incident, i made my opinion from what i've read.
and lets not fight, thats not the best way after all.
cheers and peace.

I know Vin but the veterans of the force are still "OLD SCHOOL". The young guys could tackle SUV's..and I have seen your pics. I don't think you munch on donuts either!
Don't the older guys feel intimated by the young bucks or do they laugh it off??

Just call them rookies, shuts em right up :D

I loved how in Training Day everyone calls Ethan Hawke a rookie. It sounds so damn derogatory :howler:

your opinions are as valid as anyone else and really AC Milan is a great team but ( DONT TAKE IT AS AN OFFENSE)
i understand what is your problem, dont be shy, come out of the closet and confess it to this forums.

youre a "wanna be" bianconeri, is easy to see it in your posts, but youre afraid to say it . I can bet you spend more time talking about juve in bianconeri forum than talking about Milan.

But dont worry, people in this forum will understand you, because we also prefer juve to milan.
In case you dont agree with this, then youre problem is bigger and will need (hope not) psychatric asistance

Maybe the older guys feel a little intimidated, but they deserve respect, so I always give it

I'm no rookie, I've been at this for 7 years now.......

Oh, I wasn't referring to you ;) I actually regarded you as one of the veterans, and when I said rookies, I meant the 20 year olds with juvenile moustaches who are looking forward to writing parking tickets for a few years :D

An MLS franchise isn't considered a sports team in the US. Attendance is good, but there is no TV money, nor is there a demand for MLS on TV. Once you see European footy on TV, you don't go back to the MLS, because the difference in quality is huge....But, at least they are trying hard.
