As a follow-up on that thread in the Italian section : Tony the Cass, like Del Piero, is a troglodyte, sure.
I could note that at least, unlike the latter, he has the decency not to build on the image of the "bravo ragazzo", eager to share his shall we call them opinions with the rest of us. As you know, in a country like Italy, that might eventually earn you a seat in Parliament.
"Onorevole Del Piero", bwah !
That's worrying enough, but it wasn't the main point, and it wasn't meant as a Milan vs Juve thing (even if I will have to say that Buffon is one prime Duce-worshipping cafone).
In fact, in that same thread I am chastizing none other than Paolo Maldini, another Model of a Man who is now officially on trial for a rather nasty story, if it turns out to be true. If it doesn't, let's hope he will still show up at Armani Nobu or D & G's Gold.
Him and Del Piero, and Coco, and the cow who won Big Brother XII.
- "So what did you eat at GOLD's ?"
- "Shit in a golden plate."
- "And how much did you spend?"
- "200 euros. But Del Piero was sitting just 3 tables away."
This is where we're at.
So the point then is that it's perfectly fine for Sofia Padovano, 7 years old, to deify Mr Del Piero. But when Mr Del Piero or his likes become the Reference for a generation of 20 and more-somethings, then maybe "we" deserve to be eaten up by Chindia, fried San Daniele-style.
