Having lived in Durham near Duke University campus for six months myself, whether or not the lacrosse team was innocent wasn't the bigger story. Facts were then, as they still seem to be recently, the university has real race relations problem with the community there and they've done jack to address it.
Not to say what happened to the Duke lacrosse team was in any way justified, but the environment there is so poisonous I am really not at all surprised that so many people came out in force and presumed the deranged chick was telling the truth.
The fact that the Duke team was rightfully exonerated still doesn't defuse the time bomb Duke U has laid in its bed.

Those guys were all probably assholes anyway. They go to a school that made all its money in the tobacco industry. The Dukes make their money off people dying and slavery. So of course they are gonna have race issues with the community. What I don't see is why they had to order a stripper? Duke girls are traditionally whores. I do get the whole "tasting the dark meat" thing, but they probably could have found some asian on campus to get slutty for some Sobe Life Waters.

I totally agree with both of you. No need to glorify them and feel bad for them. As we all know, money cures everything and those guys have plenty of it and much more to come. Its really a sham when ESPN did that special on the Duke lacrosse team a year later after the entire incident and how their program was reinstated and what not. Its funny how injustices are committed everyday on regular people and especially those on the lower 3rd of the tax bracket but when it comes to them no one gives a fuck.
But throw in a bunch of sweater vest wearing, side part rocking, douches from high-class society and it’s the feel good movie of the year all of a sudden.

So true. Many lacrosse players are assmongers to begin with. Then put them in Duke, and stripper or not, if I lived there I probably would have tried to run them over with my car before long.
