The Yankees decided that instead of firing Torre and looking like assholes, they would give him an offer they knew he would refuse.

As for Nebraska, don't expect miracles. With the speed of defenses these days the option isn't quite what it used to be as far as effectiveness. Nebraska would be smart to find a coach who intergrate parts of it back into the offensive package but still be a threat with the forward pass. It's much more pressing that Osborne find a "no bull" defensive coordinator to reinvigerate your beloved black shirts.
